I agree with most of the points in this video. However, to say that using Ads is always a bad way to start might be a little short-sighted.

Using Ads can be a great way to get some quick profits while working on long term strategies such as organic social media and SEO.

Growing on social media is a long term play that can take hundreds or even thousands of hours to really see the hockey stick growth.

Many people start businesses with a planned up-front expenditure. People start brick and mortar business all the time with a massive debt.

Spending a few thousand dollars in the early stages of an online business to accelerate the growth is not automatically a bad idea.

It come down to time vs money. Some people have more of one than the other. It feels short-sighted to recommend everyone starting a business do it as cheaply as possible. Starting on a free platform such as Wix is only going to make it harder when you decide to get serious with your business. Spend the money for Shopify or the platform of your choosing for the long haul. Trying to change platforms after you are making significant money is never ideal. Do it right, and do it once.

I used 3d marketing firm and they charged me 2,500 plus 1,000 in ad spend for nothing. They promised all these things and nothing. The ads didn’t convert. I believe it wasn’t their fault in the sense that I needed more content people needed to get to know my business more than just an ad. However 3d marketing firm was not honest about that as long as I paid them they were going to do it. To me this is unprofessional because as the master advertisers they claim to be they should of known to be honest with me about this. 0/10 don’t recommend ads without knowledge on building your target audience first
