Love you Gizmo and family. ❤😊 You guys are awesome. Thank you for sharing Gizmo with us. You are very blessed to have each other. Birds are very intelligent and live up to a hundred to fifty years. I had a rescue African pirate and he was 75 years old when he arrived, he lived another 25 years with me until he passed away in his sleep. He loved watching TV and having me read to him poetry and comic books. He memorized TV shows and he knew the whole poem The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe and he called me Buddy. His favorite thing to do is say Hey Buddy whatcha dewewan! And mimic the cell phone and the internet booting. It was in the early 90s when he came to my family so the internet was new and it was a loud screaming box that made screeching noises when it was booting up. If you enter our house you would be greeted by Hey, dude and a slamming sound. Because the pirate mimicked the door closing. He learned, dude from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. 😂 I love the original TV show. I even made a background for his perch that was a mockup from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon from their sewer. I built a perch on the wall that looked like a pipe and when I hung his toys on it it looked like slimy moss. His name was Poe The Man Bird, we called him Poe for short. He would steal my pencil and drop it in my lap when I did my homework. I miss the feathery dude. ❤

Teaching a bird that's going to live for 75+ years to say "mom beats me" is abusive. It lowers the quality of life for the bird, all for a joke.
