We do not need a reptilian race in the UK. Parasitic trillionaires.

We should all be Greatful for Wallis Simpson, if it weren't for her WWIII could have ended entirely different. God uses the bad for good.

King Edward (aka David) was a Nazi collaborator and a traitor to England.

This was well done I have watched it a few times over the years since it came out . Recently a documentary has been made showing Wallis’ letters . She seemed from those that yes she was okay being mistress to the Prince of Wales and then briefly the King but she expressed in those letters she didn’t want to marry him . Even to her ex husband Ernest .

She was ambitious yes but he was a weak man and some of his political views concerned the Government. Churchill always tried to support him as a long time Friemd but ultimately I think it was thought that by him marrying her it got them out of some potential problems.
I think he adored her like a dependant small boy and she was a very strong quite acerbic woman and he needed that . I believe that there was love until he died but what am empty life in a way . Lost all he had grown up preparing for and his brother and family .
In the end they had each other and hopefully they had happy times . I really believe she couldn’t leave him after all he had given up .

Lots of supper parties and travelling . His brother was an excellent King and it’s often the case in our history that royals who hadn’t been due to reign then did made excellent monarchs .
Our beloved late Queen Elizabeth, his niece did privately speak to him and there were visits . She was a compassionate woman but her service to country was in her very dna.
My Gran was a similar age to Wallis and the Queen Mother and would fill me in on so much of this time. Indeed she left me some very interesting books written at the time🕊️🇬🇧

Thank you for uploading this .

Apparently she treated him with contempt for not being able to make her a Queen, but he was an abject pathetic little boy who just wanted a mother figure and got one. Thank God the British got him off the throne; he would have pushed Chamberlain and then Churchill very hard to make a peace pact with the Nazis in 1940 and they might just have caved in. George VI and Churchill were made of steel, not jelly like Edward.

"I can't do it without her." Rubbish. He could have morgonatically married her.
He stole her from her husband and made it look like a camelot level 'self movie' romance.
He could have wholly morganatically married her. But his ego didn't love her enough to do that.
He DIDN'T want the job, just the money.

I can not help but wonder, what would have happened if edward VIII never abdicated and would have allowed to marry her and make her his queen. They are both known to have had symphaties for Hitler. I dont want to Imagen how that fact could have affected worldwar II and the whole History. Could be possible the UK would never joined the allies If Edward had still been king. Plus the fact that there most likely would never been a queen Elizabeth II.

I certainly concur with the fact Joely Richardson portrayed Wallis Simpson superbly. I also find it interesting as much as Wallis was maligned, the current public embarrassment of Harry & Megan to the Royal Family is far worse than the situation of Wallis.

Wallis Simpson had a face like an old army boot just out of the trenches--and bad teeth to boot (no pun), Surely they can find actresses in the legion of unemployed thespians who can actually portray her physical attributes.
There are one or two fairly well done Docu-Dramas on this sordid chapter of GB Royalty history. This bit of Banal Trash is NOT one of them. Don't ask me for the more worthy offerings. Use Google or learn how if you don't yet know. Use Bing for that matter!

As sad as this love story turned out, it only came about because a man- who thought he could anything he wanted- had an affair with a married woman. That generally doesn't work out well, and people get hurt.

This is a good movie thank you for uploading🙏🏻. Fortunately for Britain, King Edward abdicated the throne. He was a spoiled, selfish person who indulged in pleasures and luxurious vacations and did not want to bear the responsibilities that came with the throne. Not to mention his sympathy for Hitler. Berties was up to the job and was a great king.

Wallis & Edward (TV Movie 2005) / 6.4
In 1936, Edward VIII abdicated in order to marry the woman he loved, Wallis Simpson, a twice-divorced American. These events caused a scandal around the world. Wallis and Edward is an attempt to portray the romantic aspects of the story from Wallis's point of view. The drama follows the beginning of their affair whilst Edward was Prince of Wales and Wallis was still married to Ernest Simpson.

If this was a psychology video about two very damaged people, traumatised by bad childhoods and subsequent cruel experience, the comments would be full of sympathetic understanding. But ignorance, prejudice and, above all, jealousy, must have their day, must they not?

This was all Ernest's fault!! That would be the day that my husband would let me go out to lunch with another man no less a whole holiday in another country???!!!! He, Ernest, new what/would happen or at least he was hoping for it. He thought his status would rise too with this little flirtation. He had no idea how far it would go. I almost feel that he and Mary were already having a secret affair. He gave Wallis up very easily and happily, in my opinion. I think she would have stayed with Ernest if he pleaded with her not to marry the prince. At the end of it all, her best friend and her husband did the ultimate betrayal!!!! Ernest was so much pushing the relationship, only a man who was trying to get rid of the wife would act that way. After Wallis and Edward married it was the gavel came crashing down for them. They had a very boring life of meaningless dinner parties and B-day parties for their doggies. Very sad. I saw a later interview with both and they both looked very sad and actually speechless about how and why their lives turned out they way they did.
