When a sniper is on a high position that no obvious way or ladder leads to, I'd presume they did a maneuver called "climbing". One of the most useful skills for a sniper.

There's a bug that allows to kill anyone without everyone noticing it. You could just stab while standing as close as possible and finish quest that requires killing Duty guys.

Fact: The FPS game CyClones, released in 1994, was another one of Raven's FPS games.

Just for reference, in Clear Sky, the sequel, gunplay feels much more substantial and your bullets feel like they actually hit their target.
I still love this game.

My first STALKER game was ANOMALY, and I went in to it blind too. And somehow it became my favorite game. There's just something satisfying about it.

You won't get negative rep for killing duty boys for that freedom quest. One of the commanders of Duty can tell you that those are some idiots who decided to go on their own and to not engage with them. And nobody will give a shit if they die.
On another point, if you accept the quest from those rogue duty dudes, it's 99% that you fail it, because those idiots will die real quick despite the cool armor and freedom boys will become hostile on accepting the quest.

How to be the best Stalker: Get an AKM. Get a cheap Soviet scope. Headshots. Ammo for days. Other people fighting? Grab some popcorn, then loot the bodies. Don't shoot anything you can just walk around. I'm convinced all the tight quarters story missions are there because anyone playing these games with intent plays them like the guy you never want in your team in any multiplayer shooter.

That's the beauty of STALKER, it ALWAYS finds a way to make things worse.

Old Civvie videos have bizarrely transliterated English subtitles, like they were translated into Russian and back into English; they consistently render "shotgun" as "rifle". They're fundamentally accurate to meaning but not to the literal words used, and sometimes they whiff jokes. What's up with that? This video is fine, anyway.
