ОтветитьDude. You didn't get the bacon and you put steak sauce on a $70 dollar steak (...which somehow you think is expensive... in NY... for a prime steak aged 28+ days)
Let me repeat that: you just put STEAK SAUCE on a $70 dry aged steak. Not the burger. Or the famous bacon you opted to not get. Just because there's a boat of it on the table when you sit down doesn't mean you put it on everything. Go back with a date and get the porterhouse. And don't put anything but a spoonful of that rendered beef tallow on it.

Ответить100% agree, save your money for other BETTER steakhouses. This place has just been riding on its name for so long that they became lazy, portentous, and just plain mediocre so not suprised at all with this review. I won't be going back either.

ОтветитьI appreciate this review, it was honest and straight forward. I have eaten at Peter Luger's, I enjoyed it, but I don't eat steak out anymore since I dry age my own meat, and feel I can cook a steak as good, or better than any steakhouse. My only issue with this review is that even I knew that Peter Luger's doesn't take credit cards, and I live in Seattle, this is one of their trademarks, and has been for decades.

Ответитьdis guy here... he don't know nothing... Come on, if it's your first time don't get the burger, leave that for the tourists. First of all he went by himself. Everybody knows you always go with someone, so you can at least get the steak for 2, which is the Porterhouse T-Bone: the Filet Mignon and the NY strip, the best of both worlds. He don't know about their famous bacon... that just blew way over his head.. what a tragedy. So, he just orders the single steak which is just a NY Strip.. and complains about it not being "deliciously fatty".. he don't even know what cut of meat he is eating.. You want "fatty", next time get the ribeye, ya cheap bastard! then he proceeds to give a lecture about meat quality... Lugers meat supplier is one of the best, high end butchers in NYC, Pat LaFrieda. And he doesn't try the whole kit.. no cream spinach, no hash browns.. and No dessert, so no Schlag. No true Lugers experience.. I know its a lot of food, but that's why you go with people. And then he rips on The Luger waiters as if they should be some servant in the king's palace. They're old men and from a different generation! Some of of them have worked there way before dis guy was even born. The Servers are an institution and absolutely the best thing about the joint.. They ride the pulse of their customers.. If you're with your crew, they are hilarious & funny and give you the full Brooklyn Attitude...they're family. This Guy here is hiding in the corner, is alone and yapping to his phone.. You act strange, so the waiters are gonna treat you strange.. And has a Millennial's entitlement about his credit card.. And has NO CLUE what everybody already knows: Lugers is CASH ONLY. Lugers don't take no credit! Never did and never will. That's why there's an ATM next door with a bar.. Maybe if you're a Baller, you can pay with your Peter Lugers Card. They don't want him coming back. He don't know nothing! fugget about him! I'm done..

ОтветитьI went there for the first time in May of 2023 and I freaking loved it. I was disappointed that it wasn't fancy and kind of weirded out that the bathroom is right there in the dining room. But the fact that it's an old building at some charm. I didn't use the sauce, I never use sauce. The sides were delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection

ОтветитьI went to Peter Luger for the first time last night after years of anticipation but never actually going. The steak had a nice char to it but was absolutely lacking in flavor. It tasted like it had not an ounce of seasoning and it felt like I was just biting the actual cow at that point. This is going to sound bizarre but I had better tasting steak when I got a Ribeye at Longhorn steakhouse, a steak that's not even $35. This was the Peter Luger location in Long Island and for the life of me, I can't understand why Peter Luger was as crowded as it was when I went last night.

ОтветитьTotally overrated and overpriced. $70 US for a sad looking steak. Burger was sub par. I can make both much better at home for about $30 CAD. Thanks for the honest review though and love your vids.

go to barbarians in toronto canada...then lets talk. the prices are fucking retarded at lugers. still have no idea why they cut the fucking steak before it hits the table so literally losing all the juices of the steak....WHAT THE FUCK????????????????. on no fucking planet is a steak 70 bucks no matter how much you try to church it up. being able to cook a fucking steak should not be rocket science ffs.

ОтветитьA lot of cities, especially NY have eateries and other businesses coast on their name they made from earlier, more successful times. Peter Lugers' is not exception.
ОтветитьFirst time I went I ordered the single steak, and I thought it was just okay, but every time after that I ordered the steak for 2 all for myself and I must say it’s worth the extra 70 dollars. Also you need to eat their steaks hot, when the steak is still sizzling the taste is unbelievable but once you give the steak a chance to cool off it drops down a point in my opinion.
ОтветитьAs someone who lives in nyc pretty spot on. Locals are pretty done with Peter Luger. Don’t get me wrong, fantastic legacy but there are a lot of inconsistencies with the food. Plus the price is WAY too extreme for what they offer. We are spoiled for choice too in the city, plenty of cheaper but better places. To be honest, Korean BBq and hot pot has become the biggest pull in town. WAY more food for a decent price.
