I’ve been doing single crochets wrong my whole life…
I’ve been putting the hook through top strand and then yarn over then pulling the working yarn through both loops
IM ACTUALLY CRYING BECAUSE IVE SOLD A BLANKET TO MY EX BEST FRIEND AND I FEEL SO BAD BECAUSE I WAS FOLLOWING A PATTERN WHERE THERE WAS SINGLE CROCHETS AND IVE DONE ALL OF THEM WRONG

This is very confusing. I’ve watched a lot of videos and NO ONE EVER except for you said to go into the turning chain at the end. I won’t be doing that.

Counting stitches is something that is seriously messing me up learning how to crochet, so the fact that you were very clear on more than just the first stitch helped me a lot. I get the first one find but then i get confused after that, so this was a very good vid for it. Thank you 11 years later for being so clear about it!!!

Please help! Why is my chain all twisted and not flat and straight? I’ve tried this with Brava worsted acrylic and Red Heart soft worsted acrylic? It get even more twisted up when I start the single crochet? What am I doing wrong?

Haha i started a fall time marget bag doing a netting look but got sick for awhile so i decided to get a jump on fingerless gloves n couldn't get the feel for how to single crochet. I feel so stupid i got use to another stitch i forgot my basic stitch lol

I'm actually using this to make a basic scarf. It ain't perfect, but it's due satisfying to watch it grow.

The best I've seen for learning AND a refresher course! I've shared the link with my friend who is learning and me, I needed a refresher since I haven't really crocheted in a long time. I learned as a preteen but been busy with other crafts for years. BUT, I recently bought a pattern so I can crochet a little Dachshund, just like my dog! :) I figure I can crochet the dog while keeping an eye on my embroidery machine!

So when I’m done with my foundation row, if I want to change colors, would I slip stitch onto the last chain of row one with the new color, then chain one and begin like normal in chain two from the hook?

this is the best series for beginners I found, but I got really frustrated counting the knots and getting it. My Yarn is way to thin and it's just a pain, I don't understand what I am looking at or for, when compared to yours... Gotta get to the store tomorrow and get me some better yarn

I feel very dumb, but i’m having a hard time figuring out which parts of the chain you’re referring to as strand 1, 2, and 3. No one else seems to have this issue, but im genuinely lost. I can’t really see what you’re talking about 😢

Should I alway be 2nd chain from hook?

I’m using chunky yarn and I can’t ever find the 2nd chain because of how tight it is
