will this work on a foam board?
ОтветитьI surfed for years here in Hawaii and always found my duck dives inefficient compared to everyone else. Didn't realize how important it was to push down on the back of the board to get completely UNDER the whitewater. Not ashamed to say that you taught me something I should have known long ago!!!!!
Ответить"Bring your body to your surfboard, don't bring your surfboard to your body". There's literally no way to do one vs the other. Your body and board meet somewhere in the middle.
Ответить🎯? 😂
ОтветитьCan anyone explain what is bring your body to surfboard instead of bringing the surfboard to your body? What’s the difference in the motion and feeling?
Ответитьאמשלכם
ОтветитьCan u still duck dive with a foamy
ОтветитьThanks for this tutorial, extremely clear and helpful. Let those waves come ✌️
ОтветитьAmazing , from 🇵🇷🤙
Ответитьgreat tutorial. thanks !
ОтветитьThe music for your videos is so good!
ОтветитьWow, thank you so much
Ответитьi was practising this yesterday in some pretty wild waves. staying on my board/keeping hold of it was a win for me 😅
ОтветитьI use to use my nee for this , works better I recon
ОтветитьI’ve never surfed and don’t plan to surf anytime soon but am watching this video just in case for some reason
ОтветитьI was at blacks today just getting tumbled I was frustrated as fuck cause there was hella people able to duck dive the fuck out of everything and I was just not able
ОтветитьCan you predict if a board can duck dive by its lenght or volume? Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks for the help!
Ответитьbeen a lazy duck... it's really affecting the energy I need to keep to catch more waves! gotta fix my duck dive. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьThanks! Your logo looks like the playa maderas rock in Nicaragua 😄
ОтветитьI am sure we will all be able to tell when we are 6 feet from the wave by our Covid 6 feet instinct’s
ОтветитьIt is also fair to say that grabbing the board beneath pectoral does NOT always work given the shape of the board! Nothing is written in stone in surfing, there are certain Principles which are FEW but methods there are a million and more, do not get cut up on methods but learn principles and then finding methods is easy.
ОтветитьCan you make a turtle roll breakdown video!!! Thanks I’m advance
ОтветитьVery interesting vid. 👍
I would like to ask you a side question: I am doing Kitesurf within waves and in case of big shore break with a strictly on shore wind, it is very tough to move out of the beach, so the more reliable technique is body drag: I am laying flat on the water with the board between hands and elbows and the wind pulls me upwind, but with a limited angle (as 20/30 deg to the sea)
Due to so there are very much to travel sideways, and I cross plenty of big waves breaking hard on me, pushing me back to the beach, returning my board or myself…! 😵💫
People told me that the best technique would be to adopt the duck dive technique from the surf but no one was able to explain me the best practices for my particular case🥺
During the duck dive I will still have one arm up connected to the bar and maintaining the kite high and possibly pulling (at least not falling). My board will come at the duck dive entry point with an edging angle in opposition to the kite and with a 60/70 degree traveling direction to the wave
Do you thing we must keep those angles when duck diving or try to do as surfer (board flat and facing the wave), when pushing on the noze to dive it?🤓
😎
Thank you for your help! 🤗
Surfed Lake Michigan with a short board for the first time today and I had to do like 10 just to get out back due to the rapid wave period
ОтветитьDo surfers open their eyes underwater? or not? I would imagine it would be painful with it being salty. What if there is a second wave crashing just as you finish your duck dive?
ОтветитьHow does everyone fare with contact lenses when they surf?
ОтветитьThis duck dive tutorial is awesome. I'm going to have all the people I teach to surf to watch this before we hit the beach. Excellent.
ОтветитьYou guys produce some really top quality videos and clear instruction, thank you very much
ОтветитьThese videos are so clear, simple and easy to follow
but I find that when I get in the water everything just goes out of the window and I don't get things like duck-diving right, anyone else find that?
Excellent video
ОтветитьYou really think keeping my eyes open in the water near me will help… it’s just brown
ОтветитьWhere the spot?
ОтветитьSo easy with a short board
Do the same with a 6 6 and my 60 kg
How many liters is that board, like 10? 😂
ОтветитьGreat explanation😊
ОтветитьIf my weights Is 90kg how many liters have to be my surfboard?
Ответитьanda da wota
ОтветитьI think the feeling of propulsion through the wave comes from both the sinking and rising of the board, and the rising and falling of the wave.
The diagram of the flow of water in the wave seems wrong because water doesn't go up at the back of the wave, water falls at the back of the wave and rises at face.
During submersion the board is angled down, the board is sinking in the water and the water in the wave is rising. As long as there is flow relative to the board and the nose is lower than the tail, the flow of the water over the board will push the board forwards.
During surfacing the board is rising and the wave is falling, the nose is now higher than the tail and the flow pushes the board forwards.
Thanks for the vid!
Man I surfed for the first time yesterday and I'm already looking at these type of videos lmao
Ответитьthat accent <3
ОтветитьI push scoop with my other leg , kinda propels me that little half meter forward . Am I just imagining or anyone else does that ?
ОтветитьGood video, easy to follow and very helpful tips. Thank you for posting. 🏄♂️
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial. Thank you.
ОтветитьThanks, in Brazil this dive is called dolphin !
Ответитьme watching this video even thought i have 7 years experienced and has surfed 6 feet bombs, staying psyched maaaate.
ОтветитьWow super professional tutorial thank you! Beautiful shot and explained. Now can you please just direct download into my brainstem? 😉
ОтветитьI’m 5’3 and I weight is 46 I’ve long boarded before but I want to get into short board can someone recommend me a board
