I have that for last 10Years

I had an abscessed molar last April and it was awful. At first I had a severe headache and barely noticed the actual problem in my jaw that I could hardly feel at the time in comparison. One day my neck swelled up super large (about the size of a softball) and I was taken to the ER. I was there for two weeks on antibiotics before the doctor found the source of the problem because they had believed it had been something with a lymph node. I had to find an oral surgeon and during the procedure they also removed my wisdom teeth along with the molar(I'm kind of young but they said that if they grew in I would get impacted molars so I agreed.)

i feel better now. but my cheek is still puffy and sore. hopefully it goes down

i wonder if it's from a failed root canal. cause i had a root canal on number 18 and 19 and number 18 was the infected tooth. the second to last one. my dentist said it's a reinfected root canal. my left side of my mouth was like a baseball all swollen and throbbing. i couldn't sleep at all. i would wake up with burning terrible pain. i hope it won't come back 😢 if it does my dentist said he will extract the tooth and i really don't want that. but if it needs it then i don't have a choice.

omg really!!!? i had that! last friday it started and till now i was so much in pain in my jaw. and i couldn't bite and my bite felt off. it was so bad 😢 i couldn't sleep or eat and it throbs so bad

If it didn’t cost $500 for those of us who don’t have insurance it’s not something we can afford. Let alone take a day off just to get it done. ☹️ I’ve have a broken tooth from a local dentist and I haven’t been able to go back due to issues with the dental surgeon. I had a payment plan set up and now they’re trying to sue me for a tooth that’s been abscessed for over a year. What can I do! At this point I want to pull it out myself😭😭😭

I have a bump but no tooth pain. After suffering 2 1/2 months with sinus infection, I went to doctor. He has me on cefuroxime. Still no taste or smell but I'm feeling better. Still curious about the painless bump. Dentist dismissed.

I had a checkup and found out i need a root canal procedure. Sometimes i start tasting my infection and I want to just throw up.

Iv heard root Connells are the worst thing you could do cuz it destroys the nerves in the tooth & causing deep infections you might not even realize till its extremely bad

dental care is barely covered by insurance and if you have no insurance you are out of luck. if dental treatment was so important you'd think insurance or emergency services would cover it.

Had an appointment in august 2023, no pain at the time. They said their soonest appointment was January 2024 smh. Now here i lay in pain my whole right side lower check swollen. I pray God heals me 😢🙏

Makes you wonder why so many ER's push patients out with a small script of antibiotics and refer them to oral surgeons they cant afford or have no coverage for. I am sick of professionals telling us how urgent something is to do but then turn around and stab so many people in the back when its time for them to have procedures. Especially those on Medicare. Medicare recipients get treated like lepers

Hey i have a ❓ well hears my story so I had a bad abscess on unfortunately I pulled the tooth by myself while having about 6 hours later I went into like a shock well after that i went down hill went to the er where i noticed a rash like going fown my thigh down to my caf the docs relly couldnt tell me why besides prescribed me so i ama my self now im home n my leg is killing me as well as the tooth im lost and need some advice

My dad went to the emergency room thinking he was having heart problems and they sent him home -3 days later his tongue swelled up so big it cut his airway off and he was rushed back to er. A abscess was under his tooth on the lower right - he was intubated and the hospital pulled his tooth without getting the infection under control first - this was Jan 2022 he fought for his life in icu for 20
Months icu not a regular hospital room . He died July 30 2023 in the icu from multi organ failure. He took care of his teeth by getting regular dental cleaning and had nice teeth . I can’t believe he died from a dental abscess.

I almost died because I couldn't get the doctors to listen to me about the antibiotics not working. They accused me of wanting drugs. By the time one of them took me seriously, I had a hot dog sized abscess in my face heading towards my brain. I had cellulitis, osteomyelitis and a WBC count of 25k. I was sent to Butterworth and was admitted for 10 days. They put in a PICC line two days before discharge and I was discharged on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks. I took several courses of oral antibiotics after they removed the PICC line. My face swelled up on the right side. I couldn't open my jaw. They had to intubate me through my nose when they put in 2 drains that piked out of my throat. It was horrible. I swear I slept for 5 days straight when I was first admitted.

What if you have something that looks like an abcess but it doesn’t hurt only when I press it

Back in my early 20s when I used to regularly drink alcohol I had a tooth infection and was young and dumb, after drinking liquor while having a tooth infection I ended up with this brutal headache for about a week long. It wasn't like any other headache tho, it was in the middle of my brain, after dealing with it for 4 days being stubborn, it was so horrible I had my dad drive me to the ER which was 30mins away, finding out that my brain was swelling up which was what I was experiencing and was sent to a bigger hospital about 4 hour away from home, which led to brain surgery and a 4 month hospital stay. I had lost all my motor skills for a month and had experienced two memory lapses within that month time, terrifying. It took so long because a neurologist had to figure out exactly what the infectious cultures were in order to combat them. The liquor had thinned my blood and caused the infection to spread to my brain, which had 3 abscesses developed on it. They went in thru my temple and I had an IV pic port thru my arm to my heart for months. Needless to say, it was all a life changing blessing in disguise which had gotten me to stop consuming any alcohol at all. Was terrifying, but beautiful how life changing it was when it was all over. I'm almost 40 now and havnt drank since!

What if the absess occurs 4 yrs after the root canal?

Would be really great if dentists were honest about root canals. I had a major accident that required $12k plus of surgery. The root canals on molars caused infections and then subsequent extractions and bone graph. The worst though is telling people to hurry and get it checked when dentists say they can’t see you for a month, even emergency dentists. I think we need to move beyond gatekeeping antibiotics and steps to reduce swelling to make sure someone does not have a bad reaction prior to being seen. I mean we push untested vaccines out of every supermarket……..

I was eating a pickle 3 years ago to this day and somehow managed to bite down on the pointy part of the seed and the seed stabbed my upper left canine. It was an instant throbbing pain, and I thought it would go away so I tried to sleep. 2 hours later the pain was so unbearable I got up and went to the bathroom. And to my horror the left side of my face swelled like a balloon. I didnt know what to do other than go the ER. They made me wait until the next day when a dentist could see me. He had to remove my tooth and the pain after the anastetic wore off was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. And 3 years later the left side of my face is noticeably more puffy to me. An abscess is no joke.

What if I had one 10 years ago and it stopped hurting

I went for X-ray. I've got abscess and they scheduled an appointment for Root Canal in November. Should I see a different doc and have it removed asap?

Thought I had a sinus infection a few years ago but it turned out to be something else. I kept getting this foul smell blowing my nose and never any tooth pain or other symptoms the doctor mentioned. My two cents get it checked you never know.

I had X-rays an my tooth by my dentist. She sent me to an endodontist. I dint and a cavity or need a root canal. My upper gum are so painful and swollen and it so painful I cry. My dentist ordered amoxicillin q 8 hours for 7 days. It didn’t take the pain away. I don’t know what to do.

When I got in a infection tooth I was crying😢

Hanno fanno 2 sbagli che mi hanno portato ad una seria infezione a tutto l alveolo sopra i denti ,in primis hanno usato adrenalina nonostante la rx evidenziava infezione ,e l adrenalina assieme all anestetico: FERMA IL SANGUINAMENTO dall estrazione e quindi il pus e il sangue che doveva uscire , l adrenalina e un ormone che occlude i vasi sanguigni,e inoltre la giovane dentista non ha aspirato cercando eventuali pus e batteri con sciacqui con soluzione fisiologica, un esperienza invalidante,mai sottovalutare, dove andare puo' costarti molto di più alla fine al di là dei problemi alla tua

My infectious disease team still feels. bc of the culture growing two oral bacteria, that the origin of my brain abscess was an abscess tooth. They were shocked tho at my teeth being well cared for. My dentist looked and looked after my emergency brain surgery, for any tooth, with any issue that would have snuck in the bacteria past my brains blood defense. He found nothing. They went rounds tho! So now just to be safe i have to take antibiotics for any kind of dental work for the rest of my life. Still never found the origin lol

I have a abbcessed tooth swelling under my eye and lip and under my jaw a big long lump. My dr. Said she could see me next week like it was nothing to let me suffer like this. The drive to the er is an hour long canyon ordeal. I know 50 mls away there is 24 hr dentists. Should i go to e r or ddm? Is it somthing that is an emergency? I feel like im being a baby.
