It almost makes me want to cry seeing how these girls and others like them are denied so many of life's basic joys. I understand their 'elders' want a basic lifestyle, but being restricted from ordinary miracles like the beach or having other people control who you love or what you do with your body is essentially slavery.

I got to see the ocean for the first time in my life at Venice Beach in the last week of July. I went to LA and Hollywood for the first time in my life. I got really bad sunburnt for the first time in my life in the same day too so it went from a good day to a horrible day. But I’m glad I had fun at the beach at all. I also had my septum pierced and I almost panicked and passed out. I was overstimulated too. I’m autistic so I get overstimulated easily

Religion is the worst creation by humans, yes I think it is human made, a form of social control by rich males 1000s of years ago to keep benefitting them by saying females are inferior and the meek should stay that way to inherit the earth. Total crap. These girls are having joy and wonder at the sea, awed by its immense size and having fun. It makes me sad people come up with pure nonesense like going up in the air is a sin. How is it sinful? I mean the pollution from planes and the boat is sinful to me, but not going up the air. It is as if religion wants to rob you of fun, I don't mean debaurachy, sleeping about, having no thought and respect for others etc, but even normal things are deemed wrong. I lived just a skip and a hop literally just yards down the road from siesta key beach for several years while attending College at Ringling. This was back in the mid 90's before people started learning about Sarasota. Back then much of Sarasota was very much a sleepy retirement town. But in the 90's many of the older snow bird generations were passing away, and much of their kids had long left the so-called boring town for the big cities. And it ment that so much of that absolutely beautiful gem of a place was completely cheap and inexpensive. Completely off most peoples radar. At best people with lower budgets would venture to tampa st.pete if they couldnt afford vacationing on florida's east coast. Miami Ft.lauderdale etc. But inevitably. word got out. First in Saint pete, then Sarasota. And as people came on vacation most tore up their return flights back home opting to stay and take advantage of the golden opportunity to get in before the inevitable flood. And thats exactly what happened when the housing boom came along More and more people learned about florida's gulf coast. and Sarasota, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, all targets. I thoroughly enjoyed my many years living both in sarasota, st pete and clearwater, yet another place along the coastal string of pearls
