Hi i am a beginner and going buy my first camera next month, I've been dead set on buying xs20 for a long time but recently i saw reviews telling autofocus and ibis are much better on sony so started watching sony a6700 reviews. The one thing that's kinda confusing me is, are the film simulations in the camera like fuji OR do we have to edit these later?

Maybe I‘m too stupid but for Gold 200 for example I hardly see any difference to the jpegs without picture profile.

I tried Picture Profile 4 and my footage doesn't look much different than the base Picture Profile. I'm almost positive it's user error though.

Also, does it work on the a6400 ?

im totally newbie, are profiles the same for video and photos?

I have a doubt, I used to be a DSLR shooter so still adapting to the system.

I did the settings exactly as you mentioned, i couldnt spot any noticeable change.

Am i Missing something or doing something wrong?

I ofcourse understand the basic Exposure triangle settings need to be updated too, but the color and texture are not changing considerably.

Would really appreciate if someone could suggest what is wrong or missing!

Wow thanks for this work! I was beginning to have buyers remorse for my 6400! Im the type that does minimal editing... typically maybe just cropping if that.
I just these the 7artisans pancake fixed aperture wide angle lens and the photos have a great look. Cant wait to try this out on the streets!

Just plugged these into my A6400 while having my morning coffee. Super easy and I am super novice with this part of the menu. What a fun project! My only wish is sony would let me rename the picture profiles in the menu. Thanks for your work on this. Subscribed!

i tried some of these settings but not the section in regards to detail or colour depth yet. i wasnt happy with colour in my sports photos because oranges yellows would infect everything. Now with these settings its actually effected my raw file! its bloody good as. Greens now come out green or predominately green. my skin is coming out WAY WAY better than before. the colour is good straight of the bat, the highlight rolloff with skin from your settings here also help raw file and make it look nicer! thankyou got this video!
