So this guy Cang Du is where they copied Toji from huh

Heres a small detail.

The hollowfied hyorinmaru appearing behind toshiro look the same as Kusaka’s “ressurection” form in Diamond Dust Rebellion. Kusaka became a hollow after death.h

While in the Sword rebellion filler, the normal hyorinmaru dragon form looks more angelic and pure. And judging form Kyoraku zanpakto spirit’s design being canon we can say that a unhollowfied(normal) hyorinmaru should not look that menacing.

DDR may not be canon but this small reference and similiarity is great.
