Original Sakae engine ?- very very impressive..incredible lightweight structure too....soundtrack? repetitive and bloody annoying......until engine run up and taxied 2nd time around. A truly impressive and unique aeroplane* restoration ( *note the correct spelling)

I photographed this Zero at the Honda Airport in 1978 when I was a college student.

My father brought back parts of Japanese aircraft from the New Guinea area at the end of WW2. I W onder who could identify these parts and from what aircraft. Anyone?

Colour representation on my phone must be way off as Hinomarus look too red , but amazing to see this aircraft complete, as with german aircraft the allies vandalised history in an effort to eradicate the symbolism

It's clear why it was so easy to shoot down. One second, completely intact; the next, a flaming sarcophagus.

The one most cleanest and graceful of the WWII aircraft, along with the Spitfire.

I believe that was Planes of Fame Museum, not Plane of Farme.

Every time I see a video of a real Zero it reminds me how ugly the T-6 replicas are. And don't get me started on Spanish Buchóns doing a 109 impression on movies.

I think they should park it permanently to keep one of those fools from crashing it.

No IT'S NOT a great video. No take off. No landing. No look at the restored cockpit before flight.

A truly beautiful and very deadly design....it took a terrible toll of allied aircraft and ruled the skies when it was a very early time of war.....thank you for keeping it where it belongs....in the air!!!

Great video 👍. I've seen this aircraft in several programs over years. It's such a beautiful and elegant aircraft. Im sure it must be a joy to fly. It's obviously a very rare treasure.

Planes of Farme?

Excellent video. I thought there is another original Zero that was restored, and then sold to a rich Japanese and moved back over there. I find it curious for the plane in this video that the FAA registry lists the engine as unknown.

They had a rectangular box with manufacturing information painted on rear fuselage section.
In Japanese alphabet of course.

I have seen this aircraft fly many times. The current restoration is remarkable indeed.
The really amazing thing to me is the size of the aircraft. In comparison to allied fighters of the day it is tiny.

Anyone who has the opportunity should visit the Planes of Fame Air Museum should go. It is a wonderful collection. The living history days once a month feature a different aircraft each time. They feature special guests including former pilots of these great planes and lots of discussion on the aircraft featured for the day. It all ends with the start up and flight of the day's featured aircraft. I believe the annual airshows are set to resume in May 2024. A must see event that has been on hold since the pandemic.

I'll be there for sure.
