I just tried to add Onlyoffice to my M1 Macbook Air. It doesn't work. It's all a scam and it's compete trash.
Ответитьhow's international language / localization support?
ОтветитьMy daily workflow is reviewing highly edited with a lot of track changes doc/docx files and formatting is not important. So, I need the fastest engine to scroll smoothly through pages. Order by acceptable scroll (sluggiest to fluidest): Microsoft > Libre > Neo > Only > WPS > Polaris.
I prefer Neo-Polaris than Only-WPS because it's more natural on macOS UI, every documents opened in it's own window and keyboard shortcuts is just right. Microsoft Word is way too slow, even on Windows. Every single people here using Word is struggling with it's sluggishness on reading thorough pages.
does it sync with docs to go?
Ответитьit's not that compatible, there are layout changes and figure differences. My biggest concern is that it's made by a company based in Russia...
ОтветитьCan you explain how to edit and merge pdf files in onlyoffice? I use to do it through libra draw but I cant find any option on onlyoffice for this.
ОтветитьNeoOffice has been the perfect Office solution for this Mac user since 2006.
ОтветитьThere is a major issue for me that is a deal killer: OnlyOffice generates image PDFs that cannot be edited.
ОтветитьIs it exist on iPad Pro ?
Ответитьyou could also use office online for free but this is nice in that you download the app and can use it offline. always wondered why Microsoft had separate apps rather than integrate into one app in the suite. Would be nice if it integrated with Teams or had a meeting app that was free with no restrictions and/or could allow you to join a Teams chat or meeting.
ОтветитьIs the Mac version native to Apple silicon?
ОтветитьThis retro style is closest to the ui style I grew up with and, thus, looks most comfortable
ОтветитьThis is amazing!
ОтветитьI have also discovered it a few weeks ago...
ОтветитьNot a fan of this tabs style opening documents. This is a great project but I don't find it very productive to switch between tabs when you need multuple documents on screen.
ОтветитьI bought Office for Mac when I had an older iMac. They stopped supporting it and I’ve been limping along with Pages and Numbers but I just wasn’t as proficient at it. This sounds like a great option. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. 🐬
ОтветитьHow nice does OnlyOffice Document Editor play with long documents, such as novels and movie scripts? Some of my things run to 80, 90k words. Word handles them with aplomb, but I'll be moving up to Ventura soon (with a new Macbook Air) and would rather not buy Office yet again. Thanks...
ОтветитьWas this open office at one point?
ОтветитьVery funny, better than Office. This would’ve been great maybe 10 years ago?
It’s not just about office 365 applications. It’s about the integration between the apps and other systems that makes office 365 a must for me
One of the key features I use in Word is the transcribe feature. Upload an audio and indexes, every persons voice on the audio very easily.
I am happy with Apple Pages because it is FREE!!
ОтветитьI had an issue with that. I suspended my computer, and continued working at home, but it was offline, and it didn’t save anything at all… just check the folder is connected.
Ответить🐬
ОтветитьRedundant since google office is good enough and free. Or use the macos office
ОтветитьAwsome!
ОтветитьI run Macro on Excel
Dose it run Macro too in these apps?
I'd like to get on board with this but the fact that it's based in Russia gives me pause.
ОтветитьLibre office is far superior
ОтветитьIs there a way to see the macros created in the windows environment?
ОтветитьiWorks still much better, imo
ОтветитьThe end
ОтветитьThanks Nick, great presentation 🤓
ОтветитьWould you people stop using the word "killer" when you know damned well that whatever product you're shilling isn't going to kill off its competition. Do you think we're all idiots or what? OnlyOffice, LibreOffice, or any other office suite is not going to kill Microsoft Office. Why do you need an additional office suite for the Mac anyway? It comes with perfectly good apps already included - Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Ответитьplease make the cloud explanation video please
ОтветитьLibreOffice is probably a better system if you aren’t already tied to Microsoft’s paradigms
ОтветитьIn Excel I do use PowerPivot and ODBC for flexible queries: any solution for M1/M2 macs?
ОтветитьDoes it matter that this is Russian made ???
ОтветитьPages, numbers etc is free with every Mac 🤷🏻 Google docs too. But great to have alternatives.
ОтветитьThe reason everyone uses office is because everyone uses office. It's standardised, everyone knows the shortcuts and how to use it. There are also commercial business features it is unbeatable at. But yeah, people who don't actually need to do business work can use whatever they want.
ОтветитьThanks for the info but I would rather pay 6$ one time license fee for 5 devices to get office 365 on all my devices where I can collaborate plus the option to easily continue from where I left off using cloud solution
ОтветитьThank you for this findings! I am always searching a word-based software legally and you have suggest this software. It does really help a person like me who still doing a start up content writing with a small budget. Thanks again.
ОтветитьOnlyfans is better
Ответитьit's work for iPad? Maybe you can recommend office for iPad
ОтветитьNow that Copilot is coming to Office there is no killer app
ОтветитьWhat makes this suite of apps better than the free versions that just come with Mac? Dolphins rock. 🐬🐬
ОтветитьCan't wait to try it thanks !!!!
ОтветитьThe only issue is using a different device to access your file, unless you use their cloud version which I am pretty sure will cost money.
ОтветитьYou’ve done an excellent overview of this product. But several things strike me here. One is that you’re advocating FOSS on a proprietary platform (MacOS).
Another is that there have been many free open office projects over time (OpenOffice nee StarOffice and now LibreOffice). And plenty of free cloud based options too. And if you’re already on a proprietary platform like MacOS why not just use the free office suite that comes with it (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)?
Finally, the reason these come and go and none become seriously popular is because corporations don’t adopt them. Corporations don’t care that it’s free, they want a support contract and someone to call (and blame) when it breaks. And Microsoft managed to establish themselves at the right time such that there simply aren’t compelling reasons for large companies to look elsewhere. Individuals and small companies clearly need this stuff, but these are the dynamics that prevent these from taking over, even though they are free.
I have to say it looks and works nice, but with large documents (40 pages in a document or more) it is a little bit lagging. I am using an M1 MacBook Pro 13 inch, so that is not the problem I think.
