Behind the Counter at a local Japanese Bento Shop

How does one place a take out order in English? I noticed that their website is only in Japanese. If I wanted to try this place how can I place an order? Also, I was wondering why the chefs place their uncooked rice in a cloth type material before placing it in the rice cooker to cook? What was the purpose of this method?
