And that my friends is why I rinse my cans
Ответитьwow they eat well!
ОтветитьHow much did u sell the pigs for per pound?
Ответитьpyrocynical does this better
ОтветитьWhy did you keep the bigger pigs and send the other 2 pigs to freezer camp
ОтветитьHappiness is a pig eating watermelon….
ОтветитьWhat kind of pigs are they?
Also, what's the cost to butcher( cuts and sausage) and wrap per pig in your area?
always great to see the ways industrious farmers make good use of waste food =)
how did your pigs get on with milk? don't most adult mammals lose the ability to digest it past a certain age and got tummy troubles from the lactose?
Woow what a healthy pigs!!
Great job Mr. Daniel Radcliffe
Contact the Mafia, they will send free pig feed in black plastic bags.
ОтветитьGlad your using waste food but anytime u feed vegetables especially potatoes and other gassy veggies u should boil them first pigs gas very easily and veggies have alot of bad bacteria in them
ОтветитьI want to add some points of additional knowledge:
The flavor of the flesh of a butchered hog reflects very strongly the material it was fed. There is no flavor comparison between pigs fed garbage (table leavings) and a proper corn/soy diet.
If you are doing this to save money, remember that the table scraps don't offer the hog the same nutritional value as a proper diet, Think of it as training an athlete on Twinkies and soda instead of good protein and carob-hydrate sources.
Hogs grow much slower when not fed a proper diet. A properly fed hog will be to butcher weight in 5-6 months from the time of birth. These diets generally mean a pig needs 9 months or more to reach a butcher weight . The texture and muscle development of the flesh will also be sub par.
I've helped a couple of farmers that tried to raise market hogs using found left over human food. The animals suffered all the problems stated above. Additionally, since they were trying to sell the butcher hogs in the commercial sales market, they looked bad at the sale point and didn't earn a very good price compared to the normally raised animals.
Nothing happier than a pig in a puddle
ОтветитьWe fed our first feeder pigs on free colostrum from a local farmer and day old free bread and our pigs had way too much fat on them latter we got a couple of green grocers to hold five gallon buckets for us which they used to fill with any fruit or veg that looked less than perfect but was in fact fine and we raised our pigs on that then we kept buckets at a nursing home for their table scraps which they have a huge amount of
ОтветитьIf i had a place to raised pig just like your place i will raised around hundreds heads of pigs specially i can have abundant supply of food for them they will be happy and they are all organic
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid in the 1950’s there was a gig farmer came round weekly he has a trailer and picked up scraps from the home owners as payment he had a pocket full of foxes glacier mints and gave them to the kids that brought out the scraps. As time went by it was banned to do it so no more mints lol. Brings back memories 👊😎
ОтветитьI am not a farmer. This is a curiosity of mine. Can you unload the pallets somewhere the pigs can't get to right away and then open the electric fence to allow them access? Will they over eat if you dump everything at once?
ОтветитьMine will eat the bananas if they are peeled and they like the apples cut up. That's some good stuff you are getting.
ОтветитьGas prices are still high there? I'm in California.. the prices where i am is lower then when trump was in office. Why?
ОтветитьGreat idea! Thanks for video 😊
Ответитьmilk has protein, but what about other sources (beans, lentils, walnuts...) for growing?
despite the delicious taste, watermelon and maize have relatively little protein.
in general, how well do pigs grow on the donated pantry food?
pallets of fruits and veggies likely affect the fat content/taste of meat.
sadly you had to wash all those cans!
ОтветитьYou are what you eat . THATS GARBAGE.
ОтветитьSuch good recycling.. I will do the same.
Which places can I asking for those ? Kroger, Walmart?
all that is perfect for compost... I asked for trash (produce) but always they say no...they prefer to put all that into the garbage...
ОтветитьNice trailer! Is she heavy???
ОтветитьHi there
The Walmart I work for that one time produce with the pigs fish in the meat went to a zoo
Do they still eat the food after it goes bad in the hot weather by the end of the week?
ОтветитьThats a great way to use a waste stream. If the food is too spoiled it could used to create methane gas in the biogas digester.
ОтветитьYou should give the bananas to your cows. Boost of energy for them and good nutrition. And you might want to mix milk in with this free feed so the pigs are less picky on what they eat.
ОтветитьThe last supper.
ОтветитьNice! What electric fence charger (solar?) you using and how many joules ?
ОтветитьI know it sounds gross but I enjoy watching pigs eat. They enjoy their meals.
ОтветитьGreat idea!
ОтветитьWhat age can you start feeding them like this?
ОтветитьI expect your pigs are all around healthier and happier with such a diverse diet, and that makes better meat.
ОтветитьTractor too big for small farmer operation like yours...we do this mistake always... overkill leads to higher operation coats...your feul cost with half the HP of tractor will save 8- 10k over a yr
ОтветитьHey one of my cows has a lump on the side of its neck do you happen to know what it is
ОтветитьEnjoyed that
ОтветитьThere's nothing better than watching footage of pigs slurping, lip smacking, chewing and burping.
ОтветитьThanks Issac nice video
ОтветитьI have been farming all my life
I butchered a hog that was fed what he is feeding
And the would not stiffing up and it hung in a cooler for five days at 35 degrees
Dont eat pork or sell it
ОтветитьYour not a farmer
Your a want to be farmer
But the smell of rotting vegetables in the pen
ОтветитьThank you for your video!
ОтветитьWhat about USDA regulations regarding pig fodder. What can pigs be fed for USDA approval
Ответить"what pigs don't eat"... LoL... You don't know pigs, do you? They are scavengers. Scavengers eat carcasses of other animals and pigs will eat their own piglets and other piglets.
ОтветитьGas stations are a source of milk. Once the carton or jug reaches the expiration date they can no longer sell it and have to throw it away.
