Very good presentation. But even after all these steps on a fresh install, my Windows Update kept turning itself on as soon as I restarted and was connected to internet. I now deleted the whole wuaserv folder (Regedit >C\HLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuaserv). Been working for an hour, will update this comment again in a few days.

Yep good step by step video, however It's to much of a pain in the arse to do for someone like me, someone outside the world of illogical software design, I really wish I could advise programmers and software engineers to make a special operating system for dyslexic people like myself or absolute authority at Microsoft, I'd make the use of acronyms in the office a sackable offence, I'd completely wipe out anything to do with the cloud and I stop using updating for security reasons as an excuse to use data obtained from my customers that makes money for the shareholders and tightens the stranglehold of this monopoly, If I somehow got my hands on windows, I'd return the business to old times when it was an inexpensive program with the one time purchase price, a fair price upfront, without hidan cost or premium versions and never EVER AGAIN would a customer be asked to buy a new version for the new technology, when the tech is not new at all.
Having every computer on earth come with windows prepaid and installed on it should be enough revenue for the greedy pricks, but no, they want more and more, like Apple asking for money each time you listen to a song and the video games that you can't give away to others when you have had enough of them or when your dead, the greed of these people is wrecking the net, TV, film, video games and any digital content, designed obsolescence and internet connection to extort continuous revenue from the consumer.

At the end in task scheduler if you disable windows update it will still come back, I deleted it and now it's gone. If you try to update it won't work but there is a way around that and it will work back the way it was

I just hope this works. I am sick sick sick of all my computer sessions which have been ruined because of shitty windows 10 updates happening. Many of us remember the good old days when we had windows 7 and earlier versions.

Well well search box no longer allows this to be selected instead it goes to the Internet to bing, I wonder what Microsoft and windows are trying to do. as soon as another operating system allows me to work using what I need to do, I am done with windows and their sneaky little ways..

Hi, I'm following your instructions. I can's get GP Edit to take me any place inside my computer. It only allows a web search. I am not a paranoid person but I think these computers are being set up so owners can't control what is being done to them. I don't want any updates. I don't turn off my laptop so it doesn't update. I now find that all of a sudden, my computer is off. I have to turn it on by the power button. I own my computer. It shouldn't own me. can I send you a screen shot with a snip tool? That way you can see what I am talking about?

Well explained video! Just one advice, would have been great if the extra step to install gpedit for Win Home edition was mentioned at the beginning of the video and not the end. I wasted so much time trying to figure out why it wasn't showing up in search bar and had to google and follow steps from other side to create the BAT file and install the gpedit.

My dad said the update deleted his files. He’s livid, n we have no privacy . But we used Microsoft program so it’s our fault. I told my dad to get a Mac. Lol. I’m gonna try ur method w/ him . I personally can’t stand anything above windows 7 n will not get anything else or I’d get a mac myself

Thank you very much for the patch to run for Windows 10 Home. I run religious radio stations with some high $ automation software. Windows has been doing updates that disrupt the program and takes us off the air. Some of our donated PC's have Windows 10 Home which did not have GPEDIT capability. You saved the day.
