Got it deep in my foot once. My bro drove me home and I filled the bathtub with hot water. Twenty minutes later I was fine, sore but good to go. Not fun though, does not come highly recommended.

Stepped on one in FL a couple years ago and it got me in the ankle. I can say the pain is excruciating and that hot hot water does help.

You were lucky, a friend of mine trod on a little one like that and was in hospital for months, and in and out as an outpatient for years, almost lost her leg.

We were fishing in the Intracoastal in FL & caught a small catfish, which managed to jab my husband while trying to get the hook out. The pain was so bad he was almost close to passing out as I raced the boat for the dock.

Imagine getting stung in the eyeball

I was stung on the foot this summer while on vacation. It was the worst pain I e ever experienced. I spent a week in a hospital with an infection that ultimately resulted in surgery. Not fun. Don’t recommend it at all.

As a fisherman why has he not packed a pair of gloves, schoolboy error. 👽

all experienced fisherman like me were whincing from the start at his niavity with this fish. he learned the hard way.

long nosed surgeons clamping forceps are good and also a t-bar and third item is a pair of wired snips /pliers some times push the hook through and snip it , than saving the trace and retie, also all these tools are good if you happen to stick a hook in yourself and follow the same push through and snip to remove the barbed end . Your involved in the care of the fish showed trying to unhook this fish , but those tails are very muscular and articulated , i keep my hand away and only hold the nose and fins at the side of the head of rays, but as you can see the flexibility in the small one makes that a reduced zone a fat leather welders /gardening glove where sting rays are about can be a useful item inthe tackle bag for the little guys that are tangled up . ,stay safe Tight lines

Haven’t gotten stung by a stingray before, but I did get finned in my palm by a saltwater catfish before. It was definitely one of the worst acute pain I ever felt. I felt like I was about to pass out on many occasions during the first hour. Luckily there was a bridge faucet that shot out warm water so I kept my hand there. Apparently you’re supposed to pee on it to help neutralize the toxins.

I got the stinger thru my wrist and had to cut the tail off. I carried the tail and barb to doctor and had him disect the barb out.........The burning pain lasted for several weeks, and it didnt help that fisrt resonders gave me a ice pack instead of heat. Treat this beautiful animal with total rtespect.

I got stung by a stingray one time, and I ended up having to get life flighted to Ethiopia but then on my way over there we ended up getting hijacked by a bunch of pirates. The U.S. Navy had to come out and save me and the team of paramedics. Once they saved us, they flew us out of Ethiopia and Luis Burke our plane crashed, and I landed in the water. After that I was the only one that survived and ended up on an island. I was on the island for about a week when I met this guy. He had survived a plane crash as well. And he had a friend that he called Wilson. But the friend was a volleyball. So then anyways, a few days later, we ended up both getting rescued and flown back to United States. When we landed here in the United States, I found out my girlfriend is cheating on me with this guy that I met on the island. Fucking asshole. So then anyways I went back and I slept with his wife. And after that, our house burned down, and then I died from the stingray accident

You’re lucky a good friend of mine got a barb in his arm from a bigger one. He spent almost a month in the hospital, and they removed about half the muscle on the top side of his forearm. Go directly to the emergency room they can give you a wicked infection.
