The Most Extreme Environment on Earth

This video highlights hydrothermal vents, some of the most extreme environments on Earth and the novel life forms that thrive there in the absence of sunlight, fueled from by underwater volcanoes. Jesse Turner, Katie Bigham, and Sam Albertson, undergraduate students at the University of Washington, wrote the script for, and produced, this wonderful video on hydrothermal vents at the summit of Axial Seamount more than 300 miles offshore of Oregon.
