A Deep Dive Into Monster High

I loved Spectra as a kid, it was my forever favourite and the first doll i had. The smokey make up, the pale skin, chains and ethereal dresses. As a teen I became an Evanescence fan, still am. I think that ghost doll made something in my baby bat self

I had most of the dolls and I didn’t think twice abt purchasing them. Barbie wasn’t for me and usually Barbie is generic and normal. I loved the gothic style of Monster High. Seeing the new ones just turns my stomach I felt sick.

Well, as far as I know there was a crossover planned, it was hinted at with Nova calling Apple White and Raven Queen at the end of Boo York, maybe that's why they transferred her

I understand the parents but now even with different body types in g3 (which I love and now collect) I’ve been seeing videos of parents, and kids saying they are demonic.
They are not. Sadly g3 isn’t as popular and the price gouging for skullector dolls hurts.

I have never seen you channel before and only decided to watch this because my wife still has her collection of monster high dolls and i wanted to know what all the hype was about but i have just 1 question. Whats up with all the garfield? Lmao

It’s always funny to me when white people are the ones having an issue with diversity related things. I’ll never not miss the original design of the dolls. I loved their twisted and creepy design of the bodies they paired perfectly with the cute yet edgy clothes, makeup and hair.

I don’t understand who would’ve thought monster high was racist, they were by far the most inclusive line of dolls of their time, like I understand “stereotypes” but come on their frickin monsters based on local folklore, I’m Mexican and here in Mexico people lose their mind over her, she was flying off the shelves and on the secondary market is very hard to get her, you have to fight for her, all of MH fans wanted her

As I child I played dolls with everything, from crayons, to silverware and of course real dolls. I thought the monster high dolls were beautiful and would pretend to be them, but it never gave me body issues. The only people I know that feel self conscious due to dolls are adults.

My mom actually makes OOAK dolls using primarily using monster high dolls! Her brand name is Refabrications, you should shock out some of her stuff, a lot of very goth things.

Coming from the future (2023) to say that its funny (and sad) that just now the reboot its like Garrett Sander wanted to be in 2018, with the inclusivity and all. Unfortunately he is no longer working on mattel :/

I think adults putting their own body insecurities on inanimate objects/dolls Is Hella weird to me like Sis just go to therapy lol leave these dolls alone. They were perfect as they were and that’s what got them so popular in the first place. Just have fun with them. It’s not that serious.😬💅🏾💕

My mom didn't allow me to watch, play or own anything about MH, but I always was interested, sometimes watching or playing without her permission, and she even bought me some things with their image like, I still dont understand, but i Don't complain. And so when I grew up I started watching doll repaints, and I noticed the preferred doll brand was mosnter High, so I did research to where to buy them, used, for saving money, because I wanted to Paint dolls aswell, so then I found out they were no longer selling them and they were expresive everywhere, that's when slowly I tried watching more about them, the movies, the series, and I loved it, I explained my mom that the purpose of the brand was to tell how so many different people can be in just one place, and that no matter how different, you're still fang-tastic! And she loved it, and we watched the movies with my little sister, who also ended up loving them, even if they weren't my whole childhood, I still remember wanting them, playing those dress-up games and all of that, the original ghouls will always have a place on my heart ❤

My favorite doll was Gooliope Jellington.

As a MH collector and customizer, the new reboot while some parts being forced or odd has been fairly well received 🤷🏻 at least as far as I can tell

I think the G3 really saved them, they're so high quality and the height and shape of each doll varied so much! 💕

In my life, I never understand why western kid manufectures always draws the nose soo detailed. Like the NOSE is the area people see you the least.

idk if anyone’s mentioned it but Cupids crossover was supposed to be a collaboration between Monster High and Ever After High. In Boo York it’s slightly teased at the end how Astronova was from Ever After High universe and calls one of the characters and says something along the lines of “Monster High is real? Like the stories” and she nods yes excitedly and the movies cuts to credits.

If I remember they was a movie in the works of the crossover but Descendants knocked Ever After High put them out making the crossover basically impossible, wish it happened tho!

honestly, i never realized and of the beauty standards of barbie or monster high dolls until i was told the dolls represented it

when i was little i had monster high ocs based off of minecraft characters for some reason 😭 i was especially obsessed with the creeper girl, her name was splowda, but i also remember a mooshroom named mooshie (i was a very creative child /s) and an ender dragon. honestly kinda wanna redraw/redesign them now lol.

Man I loved monster high as a kid so much, but we were at the time pretty broke people in Eastern Europe and could never afford these so I was left wanting one and never getting one up until discovering the og base dolls now cost even more. Sad. I'm glad I'm somewhat an artist though so I can at least draw them :`)

I remember my mum agreeing to buy the dolls for us because she also loved them! She thought they were so creative, beautiful, funny and was stunned by the quality! We also have most of the movies on dvd because we'd buy and watch them every Halloween.
