It was $438 for me from Washington state, on Delta. It can be done!
ОтветитьWe were there for a week this summer and we were extremely lucky with 0 rain. for me I have hate number 6: when you gotta leave. ;_;
ОтветитьPoint #1, well said. Don´t talk about Trump because they are close to marxists woke in Ireland and politically, they support acts of terrorists so, no politics. Point #2, I´d think three times before renting a car in Ireland because, there have been some Matthew Broderick, Ambassador's wife and sports stars who have killed and wounded Irish people and fled the country, uncharged, out free, to this day and the Irish are beginning to boil about it. Who could blame them? In my opinion, Dublin has become QUITE dangerous with the Africanized and Arabic immigration making news everywhere in Europe right now. Single women are now unsafe and you can be knifed in Dublin. Cork has not had as much of that but, Cork has become more unfriendly because of immigration and the prices match Dublin. Hotels match American prices. The small towns are beautiful and the rule is, the further you get away from Britain, the more you are in the real Ireland.
ОтветитьI'm 71 and visiting Ireland from Australia for 4 days in April 2024. I'm flying into Shannon Airport as I'm wanting to see the Cliffs of Moher and places that are closer to Galway and Limerick. I've been advised to base myself in Galway as it's safer than Limerick. Is this true? Any advice would be appreciated.
ОтветитьSide note - if you are a legal resident in USA from a country with lesser respected passport like Thailand or Philippines, you can easily apply for tourist visa to Ireland by mail, with fairly quick turnaround. On the other hand for trips to Schengen or UK you have to show up in person for an interview at locations only in a few large cities. My spouse has lived in US for decades but kept her country of citizenship passport so it’s easy to visit Ireland especially as we live far away from major cities like LA. Thank you Ireland.
ОтветитьGreat, practical video, as always, Mark. I love Ireland and being Irish. We do have the craic. (Tiny point: headsup, ((not a criticism)) we say THE craic, not 'a' craic). Thank you for going to the trouble of getting things so right about Ireland and the Irish. Your channels are absolutely amazing 🙏.👍👌👏🎄
ОтветитьSo what I'm getting is dress well, except new driving experiences and stay out of Dublin, lol.
ОтветитьEverybody speaks about Guiness (which still tastes terrible to me there) but never about the great alternative in the form of Ciders.
ОтветитьYou videos are so helpful! We went to Ireland this past March (2023) and loved it. We rented a car and drove around most of the south of the country. We had a blast the entire time. We made it point to only eat and drink where the locals are and that was a great decision. Go to Ireland if you haven’t been yet! Thanks Wolters World!
ОтветитьI'm a new-ish subscriber. Like yer videos!
ОтветитьJust got back from a 12-day vacation in Ireland. What a gorgeous country. The pastures lined with ancient stone walls. The coast, the Ring of Kerry, Dunloe Gap, all amazing. I didn’t find the prices in Dublin to be all that high. I ate a lot of delicious fish and chip dishes for roughly 20 Euros. That’s about what you would pay in the states. The people were so warm and friendly.
ОтветитьI also have a crack.
ОтветитьNothing against Ireland--Most countries, including my own, aren't worth visiting. I understand some traveling. If you're Catholic, you might go to the Vatican or Lourdes. If you're Muslim you make the pilgrimage to Mecca. If you're Jewish, you might want to go to Israel. If you're into vice, you'll probably want to visit Amsterdam. But, otherwise, there's probably a great place to fish, hike or scuba dive that's closer to where you live where you can have fun for a fraction of the price.
ОтветитьAnother like: Children are a big part of daily life in Ireland, unlike the United States or Britain.
ОтветитьWhat month was this video made? It looks like autumn.
ОтветитьAnother like: The buildings painted different colours, especially in small towns.
ОтветитьWe just got back from our first Ireland trip and watched your videos about driving on the left. Thank you for the encouragement to DRIVE! It was a wee bit anxiety provoking but we did it and when we go back, we’ll drive again! Thanks for all the advice! We LOVED it! ☘️💕☘️💕
The food was amazing but the people are really what make this county one of our favorite places we’ve traveled to!
I had watched this video before going on a 11-day trip around Ireland and now watching it again after being back for a few days now. And I can mostly confirm these love/hate things (beside the car, because I didn't have to drive). Dublin was actually my least favourite place and the Temple Bar town part was not my kind of thing. I actually preferred pubs in smaller towns and I tried to go to a pub every day. :D So many people were so kind and welcoming to me. It was very easy to meet somebody, even for an introvert like me. Concerning the weather, it is definitely true what you are saying. Also, it's definitely true when people say that there is no bad weather, only bad clothes. There was some rain (and sometimes a heavy one) , but I had my water-resistent clothes, so I was happy. :)
In the end, I just want to go back to Ireland so badly, even if I had some bad experiences, but this country is so great. You definitely feel Irish being there, without actually being one.
I just hope that in my next visit I can go without having a driver's license, as this visit was an organized bus tour (so I didn't have to worry about a car). And I didn't hear many good things about Irish public transport.
edit: However, I would definitely advise NOT only to go to Dublin. It's enough for a day or two. It's the least Irish city (but the bartenders in this one particular pub were very sweet. :) )
I confirm that THE PLEOPLE ARE GREAT in Ireland and that's what I love about Ireland the most.
ОтветитьLove your vidoes on Ireland. Thanks so much!
ОтветитьThis video is for Americans
ОтветитьA beautiful country and amazing people ❤
ОтветитьIt’s ‘the craic’ btw not ‘a craic’.
ОтветитьWhat a great informative video 😊 Im Irish and live on the border between Dublin and Meath, so I can be in Dublin City by bus in 30 mins and come home whenever suits. One of the great things about our country is that you can drive North to south or east to west in 4 hours or less. So you get to see a lot of the country in a short amount of time depending how long you want to stay in each place. As an Irish person who lives on the east my entire life, I will say the best parts of Ireland are in the west. The scenery, the people, the craic (not A craic 😊) the west is the place to be. Except the weather isn’t as good as it is in the east because you have the Atlantic blowing in on you bringing more rain and cold.
ОтветитьBoth the Scottish and Irish fishermen have a true saying.
There is no such thing as bad weather.
Just the wrong clothing.
For all you future tourists.
If you Wana true experience of what our country has to offer, then get yourselves down the country.
Kerry
Galway
Sligo
Cork
Wexford
Kilkenny
Waterford
In fact any part of the country except Dublin.
The heart of Èire is mountain tops and lakes, with stunning old castles and cottages sprinkled across land.
Sheep and cows grazing as you drive or tour along the roads.
That’s the Emerald Isle for ya
🇮🇪☘️
Wolter forget about Ireland if you want a beautiful coast , lots of Castles and beautiful countryside you need to go to Northumberland in the East Coast of England.
Also check out Jersey Channel Islands .
Tourism infrastructure? You having a laugh? Infrastructure barely exists here mate. Unless you stay in Dublin (which you shouldnt), dont count on public transport, good roads etc.
ОтветитьHey, thanks for promoting my city of Dublin. You have
Taxi rides for life with me.
Would recommend hiring your car in Newry. Coach Bus leaves Dublin airpot 24hrs a day. Accommodation and things a lot cheaper in NI. So tour the North first then Southern coasts.😊
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьThe expense in country is definitely one benefit. It takes the edge of the 1k peak season airfare when you're only paying $500 per person for a full week of accomodations with a group of 5 people in a quiet town just outside Galway.
ОтветитьJust spent a lovely two weeks traveling all over Ireland and watched your videos before I went I absolutely adored every single second!!! Had to wait out a huge storm that rolled in off the ocean on the cliffs of Moher but once the rain cleared it was such stunning view worth getting a soaking just for those once in a lifetime views 🥰🙏🙏
ОтветитьIrish mothers putting the food on the plate is always is a good thing
ОтветитьHis wife seemed not so happy in the driving segment of the video. I wonder why. The Chieftains RULE.
ОтветитьDo they smoke everywhere?
ОтветитьAlso looks very clean! I love that!
ОтветитьLooks beautiful 🤩
ОтветитьAny Irish people wondering where to travel on the cheap from an American --> Mexico. Can do an all-inclusive vacation in Puerto Vallarta for $800.
I'm going to Ireland soon
Cheers ❤
I love this video 😂😂
ОтветитьI love your energy. Thanks for the video :)
ОтветитьMark, It is yousms , who has the accent, it's not usms, we were forced to English earlier than ye's
ОтветитьThe place I would recommend visiting and doing a guided tour is Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin if you want to learn about Irish history it's the place to go.
ОтветитьDon't call Northern Ireland by the name Ireland. Many of the locals will take offence. It would be like calling Scottish people English.
Ответить*The Craic. Not A craic.
ОтветитьIreland and Bali Garden..Indonesia Family....
ОтветитьRent the car late. Park until its late night. Then go and practice. Little traffic and you can make mistakes in a safer environment
