I'm so jealous! 😂 I finally got to go to Duluth a couple weeks ago and only found a few small agates. So happy you hit the agate jackpot! Beautiful! 😊
ОтветитьYOU ARE OVERUSING AND MISUSING THE WORD “LITERALLY”.
Do millennials ever pay attention in English class?
Literally FFS!
I live on California's North Coast We've got a State Park (location that most of Jurassic Park II Lost World was filmed) that has a beach known as Agate Beach. It's several miles long and visitors find lots of naturally ocean polished Agates some are small like these and some are much larger. They are STUNNING!!! I've got a Mason Jar full. I love hunting Agate!
ОтветитьAmazing finds!!! Looks like you had so much fun!
ОтветитьPaint agates also have more pastel like colors, and typically exhibit more oranges, pinks, blues, dark red to brown, and whites. Also wanted to mention that one with the thick white line going through the center looked sunbleached. Sunbleached agates will typically have an area that is all white, and or colors will be muted.
ОтветитьI also was going to ask if you had or have found agates with amethyst? I have personally found a good handful. Also, a lot of those tiny ones will make great fill for the tumbler, plus they polish really nice.
ОтветитьNow I realize how I come across when talking about plants! So exciting!
ОтветитьI just started tumbling. I wouldn't know the difference between an agate and a mosquito!! Yes, you can laugh at me.
ОтветитьIt would be amazing if you could go to where they are grinding this rock into these little bits. If they would let you look at their rocks before they process them, I can only imagine what you would find. I guess you could try to find out, maybe from the name of the trucking company that dumped the gravel.
ОтветитьHalfway through and I’m ready to drop everything and drive up to the Duluth area.
Ответитьvery cool! it looks like you have a mix of agates and jasper! perfect for rock-garden!!! VERY COOL!!
ОтветитьNew to rock tumbling & collecting but Love your energy and videos, new subscriber here! 🥰🇬🇧
ОтветитьHey Ariel, just discovered the channel. Your vids are so exciting.
I recently got a bucket full of rocks and gems and thought about getting into tumbling. Any recommendations for a beginner's tumbler?
Isn't it illegal to pick up rocks?
ОтветитьI just found your channel and am SO glad I did. Love your content!
ОтветитьIs that up toward Split Rock Wilds and Beaver Bay? Would love to start actually understanding what I'm biking and hiking on when I'm up north.
ОтветитьHow the heck do you distinguish between those rocks!? Like I can never find the rock before you pick it up. Is it just about seeing it in person, or is it super subtle? Especially the nodules… they look exactly like the other rocks to me!
ОтветитьWhat do you do with all these agates? Do you cut the nodules open? Do you tumble anything?
ОтветитьOrder a truck load of this gravel for yourself and have it dumped in your driveway!
ОтветитьI just drove to Agate Bay Beach, Brighton Beach, and Duluth Rose garden. I didn’t have any luck.
ОтветитьThis was great. I was up by superior briefly (didn't get a lot of time hunting) and maybe found two. I thought I didn't know what I was looking for (I kind of knew). But this was so helpful looking "with you". Thank you. It was encouraging I saw some when you paused to ask if we could spot them. Thank you for that short quiz. (And like most people here, I think your enthusiasm is adorable). I started watching some of your rock tumbling vids before this one.
ОтветитьI think I've learned more about rocks from just a few of your videos than I thought there was to know, and your enthusiasm is delightful. Thank you for representing Minnesota so positively.
ОтветитьVery cool - I don't get this type of excitement in Nebraska. I don't think our gravel has agates. Do you sell assortments of these tiny ones?
ОтветитьGive the location PLEASE end save some for me:(
ОтветитьWhere is the gravel pit these came from?
Ответитьi live in oregon, they are everywhere!!
Ответитьme and my friends went to this place where they have PILES (20 ft tall) of gravel (big and little) and we are allowed to climb on them and look for agates.
ОтветитьLike Oh My God!
ОтветитьWhere is this place at?
ОтветитьWhy does this video only have 761 likes?!?! Let’s get it to 1 mil People who agree with me

This is so funny to me because living in Duluth I didn't know it was unusual for there to be agates everywhere. Our house is full of them, we pick them up everywhere we go. I probably find the most agates in the washing machine because the kids are always stuffing their pockets with them. 🤣 I end up throwing a lot of them into the landscaping rocks just to make space for the never-ending stream of new rocks. Glad you enjoyed your hunt, come back any time!
Ответитьwe are new to rock tumbling, and also in Minnesota.. what town are you from. we are in Pillager
ОтветитьGood eye! Thank you for the tips.
ОтветитьQuit saying eggits....its driving me batty!!
ОтветитьIf I were you….. Reach out to the park you were in and find out what company supplied the Crushed rock that was poured around. I’ve known of people that rock companies have allowed onto their grounds to look at their rocks BEFORE they are crushed into the size you found. At the very least it would be worth a shot to maybe get some awesome rocks
Ответитьwhere is this?
ОтветитьDid you ever tumble some of these finds?
ОтветитьHi Ariel, I know this is an older video of yours but after having watched a bunch of videos now I'm just hooked. Your enthusiasm is such an educator and I learn so much from your videos. I'm curious if you've ever checked out Agate Beach in Far Northern California, in Humboldt County? I seem to remember it being a very popular place in the 70's to go agate hunting, as the beach is all pebbles tumbled smooth by the ocean waves.
ОтветитьThis is the best lady I have ever seen and I love to watch her
ОтветитьMy daughter is going to replace her driveway next year and it has an aggregate/asphalt coating now. I saw several agates in it and she let me take a hammer and chisel and chip them out. Question is, how do I get the tar/asphalt off?
ОтветитьOh my goodness, you SO speak my lango lady!! Im forever looking in areas with laid gravel, my hubby just shakes his head at me 😂😂
ОтветитьGod is a great Creator!!!
ОтветитьI live in Fargo and want to go into Minnesota to find Agates but I don’t want to travel all the way to Duluth to find them so is there someplace in central Minnesota that you can give me a hint to look? Love your channel.
ОтветитьEvery time you said another one, I heard DJ Khaled lol
ОтветитьBring on part 2!
ОтветитьI hope that you saved some for other people.
ОтветитьA gold mine!!
