I've tried GLM with my Spanish and it definitely works. But. To retain up to 30 percent of your vocabulary on each distillation every two weeks or more you have to have GENUINE interest in your target language. Coz if you haven't - it simply won't work. I mean, the magic of the method isn't automatic: I've tried to learn some other languages using GLM with attitude like ''well, why not?" and the retention rate was almost zero percent after three (and even more) distillations.

where can we watch the video where she discusses the GLM?

Being European especially from EU countries is a plus for polyglots...
1) having most countries so closed by you may travel and trips aren't that expensive for the vicinity.
2) being those countries part of EU... It is such an advantage ( you may work legally in the target country/language...support yourself economically and learn the official tongue there.

No wonder this phenomenon is more often seen in Europeans although of course...Polyglots are found in other areas too.

you can't be proficient in a language unless you know several thousand words. the gold list method seems like it's very very very slow
