Birth rate collapsed because we made society in the cult of the individual. Having children is a sacrifice, and as an individual, you need to set aside aspirations to try and help your children. This is not a virtue that we commend in society

Giving women a disposable income, birth control and abortion means that they can party and sleep with a series of "bad boys" or the small minority of highly successful men with little immediate consequence during their 20s which affects their ability to then successfully pair-bond and create a family in their 30s. As a result, the birth rate has declined below replacement level and thus society will collapse. Those cultures that are able to maintain traditional gender roles will take over. Feminism actively seeks to destroy the family, and they are succeeding.

Thw myth of children being free labor is largely a lie. They lived in much worse econmic conditions and and no child is going to be able to do anything productive until maybe a least 6 or 7 and they would normally have 3 unproductive children behind those. So the coniditons of early childhood were bad economically. One thing that they did those was reuse clothes, have children sleep together, dind't pay for many novelties like toys or resused toys, didn't pay for childcare as that mother did that, were able to access support from the community (not social saftey nets, as in your actual neighbours) . All of this is outside to realm of expectation in todays society, but if you applied them today the math woks out at about 14'000 your first child, with a 3-4 grand reduction per child until it bottoms at about 400$ for every after your 4th and at that point chilidren start helpiung raise children. Moderating expectations allows for big families even under worse conditions.

When the soviet union had a severe population issue after the war, the government provided economic incentives to have children. They even issues medals, the Mother Heroine Medal. This worked too well, so the economic benefit was slowly reduced until it was abandoned in 1991. You did have to have 10 children, so it was a very high bar. Even so 430,000 women were awarded this title during its existence between 1944 and 1991. Economic incentives do work, which means where there is a negative economic incentive to have children, guess what, you often don’t have children.

Having children and properly bringing them up is a lot of sacrifice and hard work. Not everyone is willing to do it and at least they are honest with themselves ! Too many people have children when in reality they never should have!!!

The truth though is that women are about as likely to meet the definition of coercive control as men, just like they met the definition with other domestic violence offences. That is why they are now working to explicitly apply these laws only to men, women offenders will not be prosecuted.

Anything that makes housing more expensive is anti-baby making. The area of land that is within a reasonable commute of a CBD is fixed. So any increase in the population makes every square metre of that land more valuable and more expensive. Supply and demand. This is so ridiculous it's almost beyond belief. If you want a higher birth rate, all you have to do is convince women to have more babies. What is causing declining birth rates is the fact that women have access to birth control. In the old days, birth control devices were illegal, and women were forced by law to carry to term no matter what. When given a choice, women have used birth control, and have taken control of their own bodies.

The optimum population for the UK is 40 million.

Conversely, lots of people have children and not only don't suddenly start caring about other people's children, but don't even wind up caring about their own! It's not about the parental status. It's about the person. Does this person care about others enough to make short term sacrifices for the long term benefit of someone else? If yes, that person may or may not be a parent. If no, that person may or may not be a parent.

Seriously?!? Humans are going to "die out" because of lowering birth rates ? Get a grip, world population still growing and almost at 10B, talk about this maybe when world population drops to < 1M maybe (though our species has likely survived a few times with populations under 1k). I've been saying for 30 years, that if you want to increase the birth rate, the average male in their 20s and 30s must be able to afford an average home and support a wife and 2 or 3 young children on his salary. What is relevant is the ratio of average home prices to average income of males aged 20 to 39. I'm old enough to remember the 70s, when many middle class women, even with young children, had to stop taking care of their young children (they became latch-key kids) and get jobs because of the rising cost of living and 2 salaries were needed to support a middle class lifestyle and pay the mortgage. They did it for economic reasons, not because of Feminism. Feminism simply supplied the ideological justification, after the fact.

Aside from the initial reasons of the low birht rates I think that currently it's becoming more and more an issue of social proof. You don't get to see mother's with children on every corner, a lot of your piers have no children, so eventually having one becomes more of a rarity and an odd thing.
