I think you will find the fallen angels chained by chains of darkness are the ones who had fathered the nephilim. The demons are not the fallen angles but the disembodied souls of the giants.

So confused. Is Tim saying that Gen. 1 treats the lights like intelligent beings? Cause I’ve always heard the opposite, that the pagan nations worshipped the Sun Moon and Stars as personal gods, but the Genesis author by contrast called them “lights,” not even dignifying them with names. If Tim’s interpretation is right, I wonder how we would try to reconcile it with our scientific understanding of what the Sun and moon actually are. It’s a pickle

As soon as Tim brought up the 2 Lamps I immediately remembered the 2 Lamps in The Lord of the Rings. The more I study the Bible and the Lord of the Rings, the more similarities I see.

Maybe someone else has pointed out already but in case it hasn’t been: Dr Mackie seems to have confused two categories that is (1) the sons of God who rebelled by taking human women, and (2) the Nephilim who were the resulting ‘seed’ of the ungodly union. The former are fallen angels who were chained by God in Tartarus back then (although not all rebellious elohim were part of this episode and those who weren’t remain free eg: the Satan, the Prince of Persia, Prince of Greece, etc). The latter, being mortal, died in the Flood; however the 2nd Temple Jewish understanding was that since these Nephilim were neither fully human nor angel, their souls/spirits could not descend to Sheol (the place for dead human souls) nor could they ascend to heaven (the place for angels), hence their souls/spirits now wander the earth as demons, disembodied beings who crave to inhabit a body again whether human or animal…
In a nutshell, rebellious sons of God / fallen angels / principalities and powers in heavenly places are one category but demons are a totally different category and we should not confuse the two.

What if the man Jehovh Elohim made for himself Genisis 2:7 specifically to trap Satan et al in flesh and blood thus giving the utmost rebellious being time and space by having the flesh and blood body of Jehovah Elohime for time appropriation sake for end of days sake. What if that has come to an end, then the earth is free of satan and paradise on earth comes. And azazel takes out all the waste of this contaminated universe into never ending "endness" never to be on earth again and all live off the tree of truth and life. Just maybe? Mark 3:22-26

He's a little confused about demons vs fallen angels. Demons are not fallen angels. They are the disembodied spirits of the hybrid human/angelic offspring in Génesis 6. This is why he can't comprehend the relation between demonization and the jude and 2nd peter references. The angels who disobeyed and left their station have been bound. The demons have not been bound.

I enjoy listening to Tim. His mind is extremely interesting to watch work. 😊

What Hebrew Bible? I'm reading the David Stern Hebrew Bible. What one are you referencing? You have answered so many of my questions and things that I wondered about and my main concern was getting the proper interpretation from Hebrew to English for me to understand and that's why I got the David Stern Bible. Is there one that is better than that? My heart is very hungry for the truth and the correct interpretation.
