Man why did no one tell me this was an option
Ответитьyou will get classes about how evil white people are and then more training on gender identities....
ОтветитьAll academies are stupid as is most officer training. You get officers who know how to play stupid games, but are dogshit at winning wars. Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam... They just need to commission NCOs who perform well. A 9 month officer course would be enough. Leave the bullshit in basic training.
ОтветитьYou do not get the 4 years tacked on after 20 years of active service as an officer. See section 971 of Title 10, US Code
ОтветитьI work on a golf course in Mobile Alabama and I always see Coast Guard choppers flying over, always give them a thumbs up. Thanks to all who serve!!
ОтветитьNaval post graduate school?
ОтветитьWhat about citadel?
Ответитьmay I suggest a video on the other 2 uniformed services:
Public Health Service Commissioned Corps
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps
Not "armed" service but it would be good to get the word out there.
My friend and his sister currently attend west point and it took them a while to get in.

ОтветитьConsider how busy you will be and the fact that basic training alone takes up half of the summer I would highly recommend taking a gap year after high school for those who wish to attend or got accepted into the service academies

ОтветитьOne point that was not made as clearly as it could have been is the ability of Naval Academy graduates to attend flight school as either Navy or Marine officers. When I was there, approxiamtely 30% of graduates went to flight school. Pretty much everyone that wanted to fly did, as long as their eyesight was still 20/20. Flight school does increase your commitment by app. 18 months. Naval aviators also must qualify for carrier operations which makes them better pilots than their Air Force counterparts...not biased, just facts. Also a significant number of graduates choose to serve on nuclear submarines.
ОтветитьMy oldest Son had a letter from Governor and state senator. Belvins and Arnold Simpson. To go to
One of
These. It's hanging in my living room. It's a certificate and notarized. He chose to go to EKU and became a surgeon. He wishes he would have gone now and let Uncle Sam pay for his med school. He's way smarter than me and his mom. Lol. A couple of my kids got my grandpas brain. He was a engineer for GE. I didnt get it. 😂
Nowhere near the best, they are however, the best represented!
ОтветитьWhat’s the stupid voice
ОтветитьYou missed Norwich University, which is the Olds and the home of Rotc and the old college marching band. Also has ROTC for all the services, and has a civilian college attached.
ОтветитьI enlisted in Marine Corps and after a couple years applied for Naval Academy and MECEP. I had done pretty well as a junior enlisted guy, had good mentoring and command support and recommendations and managed to do pretty well on my SATs after not having taken them during HS. Got a Secretary of the Navy nomination and acceptance to Naval Academy. There’s 100 slots for that nomination every year for eligible sailors and Marines and to my knowledge they go mostly unfulfilled. Understand getting a nomination is not same as getting accepted. It’s another option if you can’t get nom from your home state. I was pretty good Marine, smart & a bit cocky and let me tell you, the academy humbled my ass quickly. I was surrounded by smartest people I’ve ever known. It was hell of an experience.
ОтветитьI'm sorry, it's just impossible to take the Air Force with their bite guards, and Coasties with their water bottles in parade seriously.
ОтветитьAlso, we had an Annapolis grad join our ship my 2nd year in the Navy. Imagine like this really short nerd but who had a girlfriend that he loved. Shortly after he arrived, we went on a 2-month exercise over to the UK, and when we got back to Norfolk, he dipped out. He didn't show up for duty, and when the command went about trying to locate him, he wouldn't answer his phone and he wasn't at his apartment. So on the 29th day of him being UA (AWOL for the Navy), he shows up. It was obvious that he didn't want to get hit with desertion charges which he would've gotten if he'd gone a full month. Our Captain, who was also an Annapolis grad, was livid. He read the dude the riot act, said he'd never seen an officer behave that way, and said that basically the only reason he was giving him a second chance was because he'd gone to the Naval Academy too. So this young Ensign is restricted to the ship, because we're about to get underway again in a few days, and lo & behold, the morning that we're going to get underway, he sneaks off the ship and bolts.
30 days later, we're back in port, and here he shows up again. Captain was like "nope." They stripped him of his commission and gave him the option of the brig, paying back the money he owed for his education, or serving an enlistment starting as an E-1. I'm pretty sure he chose E-1 since he couldn't afford the debt.
Really well done video!
ОтветитьBest college for the military, suny
Maritime . You don’t have to join the military, but it’s a option if you can’t afford it. Jobs out of college are the same if you graduate from a major military college.
I was in the Army. An officer told me about West Point. He never went there but he knew what to do if one does go there. He said if one does go there what would should be done is make friends with anyone and everyone. Reason being when one graduates from there and did that, he or she has friends. He said only an idiot would play hardcore with lower classmen or classwomen. That could work out badly especially if one makes a career out of the military. Because later on if someone had a hard time with an upperclassman at West Point, and the lower classman now has a higher rank and is the guy's chain of command, someone has a serious problem. It's not forgotten what was done. An officer can hang his career up if he or she gets just one bad evaluation report.
I seen a couple of Captains who did not get promoted to major so instead of leaving the military, they were able to work it out that they would be enlisted (Sergeants) and could stay in and finish out their 20.
FYI, USMA NEVER uses up all the admissions slots it reserves for enlisted Soldiers, whether Active, Reserve, or Guard. It's actually the easiest way to get in. You only need a memo from your commander rather than a congressional nomination. Food for thought. There are also other special nomination processes, like JROTC honor unit, dependent of a 100% disabled veteran, etc. My Beast Barracks battle buddy did split training in high school with the New Jersey National Guard and got in that way. She graduated as the Goat of our class - lowest order of merit cadet who still graduates on time. But she still did it!
ОтветитьWhat does he mean by express interest in being a marine officer, does he mean make it known before attending orrrrrr
ОтветитьThere are currently 8 uniformed services in the U.S. - you are forgetting the smallest - NOAA. NOAA officers are trained at the Coast Guard Academy - but separately.
And for trivia - the US Army actually has a fleet of ships - and their officers are known as Marine Deck Officers, and their training is pretty arduous - first - Warrant Officer Basic Course, then Warrant Officer Intermediate Course, then Warrant Officer Advanced Course, then the Marine and Intermodal Training Department of the U.S. Army Transportation School.
I would recommend to enlist and then go Green to Gold if you are young enough in the Army. Going to Basic Training or Boot Camp gives you a crappier, yet more authentic passage into the military. And if you don't like the military, you'll most likely be out before a person who went to an academy. I've seen PFCs/E3s have to hold the hand of newly graduated 2nd LTs.... It is not a good look showing up to an Infantry unit as a 2nd LT right after you've graduated West Point and you have Privates outsmarting you for months.
I'm not joking when I say, I've seen Privates mess with newly graduated 2nd LTs on the daily by only saluting with their left hand... As well a 2nd LT who saluted my CSM with his left hand. My CSM took him around the back of the building and cussed him tf out lmao. Mainly because the 2nd LT was always messing up. He literally lost his M4 in he field the very first time he came out with us. It took almost 15 hours to find it.
Yes the academies are tough in their own right. but if plan on doing any cool stuff as your main job, instead of being a support element stuck in the office all day, go to enlist, go to Basic/Boot then do a program that lets you commission. If you come from a pompous family or think you're better than everyone else, go to an academy. Also, service members who were enlisted first almost always get a more level of respect from their subordinates. As they will be more in touch with what it's really like on the enlisted side, as they have been there themselves. And your subordinates who know you used to be enlisted will most likely show you an even higher level of respect after finding out.
The choice is yours... But you won't be making many choices if you're reading this, while wanting to go to a military academy and don't have a 4.0 GPA, access to a member of congress (whether it be directly or through local connects), in good shape and morals to be honest at all times, and never quit or let someone else quit. Get involved in community events that you local Mayor attends. be a part of a club and/or sports at your school. stay out of trouble and don't hang out with friends who can get you in trouble. be a leader, never a follower of anyone who hasn't earned the rank to give you orders..... And wash your hands.

ОтветитьWhich military school is the hardest to get into, the Naval Academy, Air Force Air Force Academy, or West Point? How does the cost of these schools compare to a regular university?
The Federal service academies (there’s also the Coast Guard and Merchant Marine academies) are all more less equally competitive. Army, Navy, and Air Force use an identical admissions process, their student bodies are of equal size - set by law - and their admissions rates are all about the same for each new incoming class.* The admissions rates they advertise - number applied versus number admitted - are slightly misleading, in that they count anyone who requests information on admission as having applied. It’s a very long, involved admissions process and a lot of candidates don’t even bother completing. But they are very competitive.
How does the cost of these schools compare to a regular university?
Costs for each cadet/midshipman? Zero. There’s an up-front payment for initial issue items that the cadet/mid can’t return to the government if they quit during their initial summer training, mostly uniforms and personal items like underwear. I don’t know what it is today, but way back in 1995 it was around $2000. But they’re considered active duty members of the military and from day one, they get paid in addition to having no fees or tuition. Most of that pay is withheld to pay for mandatory issue items, like uniforms, computers, books, etc, but they get a small amount of cash twice a month, and it increases as they gain in seniority at the academy and those items are paid off. Since all living expenses are provided at no cost, the cash pay just amounts to some spending money for pizza and a movie on the weekends.
*USCGA and USMMA operate somewhat differently in their admissions process than the DoD-run academies
