WTF Happened to Equilibrium?!

I wish someone would pick this up as a tv show

You need to do a "WTF Happened to" on Knight Rider 2000 or even Knight Rider 2008

Iced Earth made a song about this awesome film.

I'll compare it to the Matrix in front of him. Tell him how Equilibrium would be one of my desert island movies and the Matrix wouldn't be.

Equilibrium was the best draw I've ever got out of a mystery dvd. To this day I rewatch it at least once a year.

If this movie was released today, it would tear apart the box office as movies these days suck. This movie is really good, but not matrix good so it's rough to live up to it during those years.

I watched it on dvd .Wasn't the actor Brodomir from Lord of the rings the actor that dies in every movie.

I watched this movie 50 times maybe, and I cried every time. After that, Chrsitian Bale became my all time fav actor. My mind cannot handle that how someone can play this kind of character so well...

And %40 from critics? Yeah fck them... I would make them watch Disney remakes forever...

It did look cool. I liked it.

As an American who has traveled the world (thanks army), I think the most visually pleasing place to visit is Progue. One of my flights from Iraq back home bound caught on fire and we did an emergency landing there for 24hrs. Its very pretty there. We were given several hours to "explore" but stay close (think 2 mile radius as that's a 15min run back.... back then. I'm old now. Lol) I'm aware this has like 1% to do with the video, the locations part is what got me onto this tangent. My bad. Hope you have a good day if you read this far.

This movie goes beyond the movie in its teachings; its reviews taught me not to trust the mainstream media. All the mainstream media reviews tried use its relatively unkown status to pin it as an idiot's film, while every other critic review is favourable, and user reviews are above that of both tron movies, which are spoken of extremely highly today.

Aww, this is my movie! I pay it gladly. Emotions go dead, it's on. Having been abused by pretty much everyone as a kid, this is the movie that gave me emotions. This movie triggered something within to fight the anti-social side. This and Ender's Game (the book) 'How we win matters' was such an epic line. I took Ender's and Bean's ways of thinking as my first characters to develop a personality. I get that sounds crazy to normal people, but when you're abused that badly, you may not come out with a personality.

I never even heard of this film till a decade after it came out. Now I watch it all the time.

Saw this at the cinema with a full house and it was one of the most fun screenings I've ever attended - the place literally erupted with cheers at certain action beats.

What happened to this movie is very Simple, it went up against The MATRIX at same release and was pushed to video.

This movie is NOTHING like The Matrix.

This is one of those movies I'd never heard of but watched because my brother pirated it circa 2003. I never understood how it didn't become more popular! If anything could've had a neat TV miniseries built around its central conceit, this could.

Love this, and Wimmer's follow up Ultraviolet.

I never saw anything on this when it was in theaters. I had two friends who saw it and they told us about it on Saturday, Sunday or Monday I went to see it and it wasn't on screen anywhere in Orange County.

For those who don't know Librium is used to basically just calm anxiety and it's also used for withdrawal. So it covers both spectrums.

It's like Patrick Bateman in a sci-fi movie. Totally Bateman with the expressionless face.

Loved this film, yes it was harshly up against the matrix which destroys it but Equilibrium was a underrated gem.

Great Action, thought-provoking plot.

There really is no comparison to be made between Equilibrium and the Matrix. They were both embracing a gothic esthetic that was popular for any dark and gritty setting. This was actually ushered in by The Crow. The two movies talk about completely different things. They should just be enjoyed for what they are.

Enjoyable movie. Cringed when computer monitors destroyed cliche while to actual computers with program/data would keep running.
But then, you don't watch fast and furious for good or even logical storylines.
