Whats the BEST 85 Inch TV? SONY X95J!! 85 INCH TV REVIEW - Sony 4K

85X95J can be snached for 1900€ at the moment. Is it still a good tv for this price? I have a feeling it is :)

We bought a 75” X95j about 6 months ago and your review helped us with that decision.

Sony’s picture has a certain look to us that we love. Big movie fans here and I’d describe the picture as cinematic.

So basically, because I have Xbox Series X, PS5, and a Atmos soundbar, this TV isn't a good fit with only two 2.1 inputs. That's disappointing.

This at 85" or the X95K at 85"?

Hi, I’m in the market for a new tv and have been enjoying your videos. Can you give any guidance around how to calibrate your tv?

If the difference were $1200 between the A90J 83in vs the X95J 85 in would you still choose the X85J?

Any chance of you guys reviewing the new Sony X95K in a 85inch ??

I had to decide between the X95J and the LG C1 OLED. Very tough choice but with only a $100 difference I picked the OLED.

In my opinion the best 85" at the time of the video is actually Sony z9J.

The anti-glare coating on this tv doesn't seem to do much. That would get annoying. Especially that rainbow streak affect.

Having one of the 4k HDMI ports for ARC is definitely not a deal breaker, and actually quite beneficial if you have an AVR that supports 4k hdr10+ Dolby vision passthrough, like mine.

I checked out a lot of reviews on this TV and this one sealed the deal for me. As a big movie lover and gamer, you covered the bases on this. But the slam dunk on this was your wife’s coverage and admiration for Football. My life, August-Feb is pretty much dominated by the sport and watching it. Hearing the 4K is amazing and the upscaling off a regular broadcast does a solid job made this an easy purchase with confidence.

I love my x90h, wouldn't get anything but Sony now. Got a tcl to save up some cash but then put the new tcl 4k HDR tv to 2010 Sony led tv fullHD, tcl looked just bad even tho it was 2021 model. Sony is just hearttts

Woha 4K, think I’d go projector for that price. XD even if it costs 4-6 K for a good projector setup I’d save a bit more for that.

I just purchased the x95j 85" about 3.5 weeks ago and last night connected my Panasonic ub9000 to it. We watched the first John Wick using a 4k UHD disc and it was AMAZING!!! We will be watching several other 4K UHD hard disc movies this weekend!!! Thanks for the review!!! From your past reviews, which also lead me to purchase the KEF Q750 TOWERS (which also lead me to go with a full KEF for surround and atmos speakers)

Sony 85z9j 🔥🙂

I'm scared of just one thing: ghosting and other lcd's issues that are only visible in dark or no-light situation. I saw a video of the Samsung qn800 that is the Samsung's top class and with total dark screen it is visible some areas with white areas. Is this sony like that or it may doesen't show this issues?

Great video.. Have you been able to test whether the X95j passes through the Atmos content through to the AV reciever. Lots of mixed reviews if TVs can do that and what it takes to make it happen.

Thanks for the review. I recently purchased this TV at a big discount from a Best Buy Magnolia store. As far as Google TV bugginess and other smart features go, I wish manufacturers would realize that it is completely unnecessary to build "apps" into the TV. In fact I never use these features since they don't work with my Philips Hue lighting setup. Smart tv features will never be able to compete with home theater or media center PC's for functionality and customizability. I would much rather manufacturers concentrate on great complimentary features such as 3D TV's or Picture in picture instead of a useless Subpar smart app features.

What is the must buy price point for the A90J ?

I literally purchased this model, but in 75” a couple of days ago. The 85” is almost $6000.00 AUD here in Australia, my pockets are not deep enough for that one.
Anyway, I’m loving Sony X97J 75”, the quality, image, colours and brightness are outstanding. The tv sits in a very bright sun lite room and has no problems whatsoever.
For me it’s all about the movies, for that, this model shines.
I’m not a gamer on a tv, my PC is where that is at.

I find it very strange that here we are ‘Sony’ maker of one of the biggest gaming consoles on this little planet of ours and they fail miserably when it comes to interacting with gaming, what’s with that?

Nice video I now have a Sony TV series Brava x94j only I think it is very dark and grey have all adjustment settings and also messed around but cant enjoy it TV without HDR is stil dark too is the x93j or x95 or x90j better? hopefully I didn't make a bad purchase because I just got it home!

Curious if the x95J 85 inch has the same 3D feel as you mentioned about A90J? Or if A80J 77 inch has that feel

Great video and super useful with helping me make a decision. The settings you recommend on this video, are these the one that gave it a delta of 1 or was it something else?

So I was one of the unfortunate people who got a panel (85") with the dreaded grid pattern. I didn't notice it until after the return policy expired with the retailer. I contacted Sony Support, went through all their checks, and nothing fixed the problem. They escalated me up in the support system, asked me to take pictures of the grid and upload them to my case. I just got a call today that Sony is scheduling a replacement for my unit. Will the next unit have the issue? Fingers crossed it doesn't.

This definitely has me leaning towards this exact TV b/c we have a very bright room with a ton of windows (even though we watch most of our TV after dark.) I'm looking at either the 77" A80J for $2800 out the door or this 85" X95J at $3500 out the door. Is bigger worth the difference in price?
