It will be interesting to see if people prefer the feel of the tactile switches or the new snap action switches. I personally have a bias towards light actuation forces.

what is the realistic time to wait before shipping? also, the cameras quality, or your uploading quality should be looked at if you want to attempt to reach a wider audience

Honestly, most of that went over my head, but fascinating nonetheless!

I saw that assembly animation and my brain went 'how does this get enshittified to cost 9.57' (the cost of cheap rubber dome keyboard)
obviously everything gets injection molded, then we use a single layer flex pcb for the switch board, we replace the switches with metal snap domes which get affixed with some adhesive backed plastic film (fancy packing tape essentially) and a spacer, swap the micro controller for something with the lowest specs available for a single arm core. We can probably get very close to current keyboard prices.
(this is not a dig at the product, more of a thought experiment on how this could be made for mass production at a silly low price)

1. it appears there are less ehhh... 'joysticks' than the charachorder one?

2. how does the mapping differ?
3. Are there still joysticks for mouse controls?
4. And one sillier question, Would those hypothetically be remappable as a game joystick? lol

So what speed have you been able to achieve with it? I think that speed is everything because obviously it is an expensive keyboard. Is it as fast as CharaChorder 1?

I am in the high-value sales industry. When I replace my cc1 with this beautiful product, it's going to bring even more attention to my customers. I love talking to them about it and answering questions. It helps me build rapport too since we are talking about something on a personal level and getting to know each other better.

How hard would be to change the language out to a diffrent alphabet and make it be able to chord.

Also, what are the deadlines on the benifits gained from backing this project early, I could pay for it but it would take a bit of budgeting.

That industrial design is sure to please the same 3 people who think its sibling Tesla truck looks cool. Can we please have it with pleasant rugged foil or even better: hard-wood veneer?!? Also, why force-feed us dozens of dollars of add-ons many will find hardly useful?

I can only hope my Master Forge will work with my Oculus Quest 2.
Seems like a great use case, all virtual keyboards I tried suck, I struggle to see or remember the layout of my Bluetooth keyboard. TapXR seems too casual.
Jsaux 6-in-1 Dock for steamdeck doesn't work with Quest. Union Pro + from Uni does.

I was evaluating whether to get the Characorder. Now, I also need to choose between that and the forge. This comparison video did not make clear to me the difference between those two in terms of the user experience and/or learning, beyond the forge being perhaps a bit smaller.

Wait, the little sticks also have a button functionality like the L3 and R3 of playstation sticks? Then you can easily implement japanese flick style typing then. Directly off the mobile keyboard design

How much delay does the forge add? Is it consistent? Some delay is obviously unavoidable, but if it varies in length it may make timing inputs impossible.

I'm curious about the “3D” keys: it appears to me that only two dimensions are relevant. What happens when such a key is pressed straight down?

How does the force needed to activate the joysticks change from charachorder one to forge?
