Please let me know if there's interest in a round 2 video to include more ratchets that I missed in this episode. So far, I've added Gearwrench XP120, Snap On's zero tooth, Stanley, Ko-Ken. Looking forward to your suggestions!
ОтветитьSo long story short they all work just fine. with out a cheater bar pretty sure your arm and hand will be the point of failure
ОтветитьWould like to see how the normal Pittsburgh with chrome vanadiums compare. they are very similar to icons.
ОтветитьHusky 144-tooth. This never gets old.
-I'm going to put a matco flex head on an icon 25" breaker bar. 🎉
Great test, but misses the importance of the quick release button. I bought a set of the Gear Wrench 90T after watching this test, but find myself going back to my Craftsman 82T because my greasy hands miss the quick release of the Craftsman
ОтветитьIt would be interesting to see how it would go with the Snap On compact head 3/8
Ответитьi have one of those milkwakee ratchets from a 3/8 set, my god what a workhorse
ОтветитьI've seen the brand pop up in a couple videos now, so this is in case it pops up again in the future:
As far as I know (but I may be wrong), the "ARES" brand should be pronounced as a word, not as individual letters. I believe it's supposed to be like the Greek god of war, Ares
Also, I know you would likely need to import them since they're only available here in Canada (AFAIK), but is there any chance you could add Mastercraft and MAXIMUM products into future tool testing lineups? They're Canadian Tire's house "standard" and "premium" tool brands, respectively, and are much easier to get up here than a lot of the American brands you test
Has he tested socket sets? I saw he made a video about Allen hex sockets, but what about the regular sockets.
ОтветитьWow surprised Wera was at the very bottom on the load test, guess it only looks nice and have good marketing, thank you for testing I was going to buy it, now I think i will go with Milwaukee as other brands are hard to get in Europe.
ОтветитьI just started working as a tech in a motor sports shop. The Pittsburgh pro composite ratchet is the go-to for battery terminal bolts at the shop, so you don't risk frying something in a brand new side by side
ОтветитьI would say the directional switch pressure is backwards in your ratings, where higher pressure is better, so you don't accidentally switch it in tight places.
🥴
Bad ass video!
ОтветитьThis guy is a legend!!!!
Ответитьjust bc he broke snap on rachet im gone follow now this foo crazy like that okauyy
ОтветитьSo what you're telling me is buy this gear wrench master ratchet set I've been eyeing. Thanks.
ОтветитьMy husband loves his drill.
ОтветитьI’d like to take a second to say that I’m in the process of restoring an old Craftsman toolbox and set of tools that used to be my dad’s many years ago, and he has quite a few Craftsman tools and the best part about them is that they’re USA made. For that reason I’m gonna cherish them.
ОтветитьMy DeWalt tool kit from Costco works fine for me it's the socket set tool kit on sale at Christmas $100.00
ОтветитьHarbor freight is like a 5min drive from my house, so icon with its really good warranty is the one for me. I want to buy and use their compost one as a beater, it looks cool.
ОтветитьI'm sorry just saw chart my bad
ОтветитьI think it wouldn't be a bad idea with all due respect mr farm to include a chart somewhere in the video with the results of all the items tested wich would benefit all of your viewers for screen shot purposes. Please.
ОтветитьGlad i bought my gear wrench set
ОтветитьValue for money SATA....
ОтветитьTEKTON ...
ОтветитьMechanic tool set under 200.
ОтветитьHello Todd 🤠
So I subbed and found this .. thank you.... But was wondering if u have a video of socket testing ???. I must get full sets of 1/2"and 3/8" reg & deep. Both metric n sae.
Can you help me 😢 ????
Too bad you did have a tone or Koken. They both have nice back drag. Tone has really slim heads.
ОтветитьJust blew apart a 1/2" drive ultrapro ratchet with a 6' snipe, SK took it like a champ, Id like to see that test but wouldn't wanna c you break all your ratchets, great channel !
ОтветитьI'm glad I stumbled across this video. very informative , honest and to the point. it'll help me rebuild my tool box
ОтветитьLove my 120xp gear wrench ratchets. Very good for the price
ОтветитьThis guy rules!
ОтветитьNotice how the Icon and Snap-on did just about the same, for 1/3rd of the price.
ОтветитьI don't usually support harbour freight, but that Pittsburg ratchet is the one I use the most because I don't have to feel bad about breaking it, also it works pretty damn good and I quite like the larger handle, it allows me to get a good solid grip on it when I really need to give it that unga bunga.
Ответитьthe prototype has too little back drag. sliding hands and small bumps will cause it to reverse direction
ОтветитьI’d love to see you test Files!
ОтветитьAnother great video. 'Someone' lost my 3/8", but now I know which one to replace it with!
Ответитьgreat vid, picked up some SATA ones and they work awesome!
ОтветитьI can't believe I haven't seen this video until now. Because of that, I see Amazon is sold out of at Gearwrench ratchet. I may have bought one just to see what all the fuss is about. If that ratchet is discontinued, I imagine the next one isn't going to be as nice due to cost cutting measures every company is doing.
ОтветитьI am not a tool snob.....to me, it's all about value for dollar. My local Harbor Freight is 10 mins away and you can't beat their replacement policy.
ОтветитьI was curious about the zero degree, good to know it’s not that special lmao
ОтветитьWith so many years of using ratchet, I got a question. Should you ever disengage the bolt while you need to change the direction of the pawl, or is it okay to leave it attached to the bolt while doing so? Sometimes I just forgot the direction I am going, and I tend to change the direction on the fly. Would it damage the pawl?
ОтветитьGear Wrench was the winner
ОтветитьAny experience with Klutch tools?
ОтветитьI see a fault with the sweep test. The ratchets are only able to index based on front to back thickness of the handle the way the jig is designed. the thicker the handle the less total degree sweep that can be performed. The index sweep should have started and stopped at each handle center line. This test is not an accurate test as it is biased on handle thickness from side to side.
ОтветитьReally cool testing, but If you’re putting 200+ft lbs on a 3/8 ratchet you’ve got the wrong tool…
