Honestly I wonder if it would have been if Rome supported the Gaulic Empire as a buffer state against invading Barbarians. Britiania and Gaul were hard to defend due to them being far from the Mediterranean and the Roman power base. Had the supported the Gaulic Empire as a Client Empire, I wonder if Rome would have lasted longer if it didn't have to exhaust itself defending Gaul and Britainia. Letting a loyal client kingdom handle it.

Imperator Aurelian is in my Top Ten list of Roman Emperors. I've wondered what last thoughts ran through his mind as he was stabbed to death. Something like, " after all I done to save Rome this is my reward". The empire needed another 5 years with him in leadership.

To be honest we need a man like him in the west really badly now.... I really sick and tired to see where this is going, a man like him id follow with out question, sadly i think the issues of which there are many can no longer be resloved peacefully.
