I have CKD, and I have had itching😢

2015 I was diagnosed of stage 4 (15% kidney function). I was so lethargic, lost weight rapidly, skin looked like the Sahara Desert, etc… I was once told by a Nephrologist that I’ll never get better than 27%… I am happy to say than my kidneys are functioning at 40+%…
I make sure to get adequate rest, manage my in take of salt, sugar, meat, and make sure to keep myself hydrated.

I don’t understand how when in March blood work showed I was in stage 4 kidney failure but my test the other day shows as my kidneys being normal?? I have a lot of the symptoms you said. Badly swollen ankles, belly pain, itching, the confusion OMG is horrible. Is it possible to have kidney failure and still have a normal egfr rating? I went from a stage 4, then to stage 3a and now normal all since March. Docs say my symptoms are either kidney or heart related. I’m suppose to see a cardiologist and get an echo. Plus I’m still dealing with this pneumonia that I first got sept of last year that keeps on coming back. And oh yeah, I forgot about the loss of appetite. I went from weighing 180lbs all the way down to 95lbs. I just recently started eating some and have gained 5 lbs already.
