Sanded it would look a lot better. And that’s even before filling any gaps!

Spent an hour learning, dude that look really good those joints are pretty tight using soft wood and free hand power tools. You could try makding a template so it's easier to refine then use a pattern flush cut router but to copy the pattern to the parts for consistency and dead nuts joints. Otherwise I'm impressed

A sander will neaten up those joints and wood putty will fill those gaps, rasping or beveling the edges and corners couldn’t hurt too. Good job!

Impressive! I'll say with what you learned on the first one, the second will be better and somewhere along the line people will think "No Way he did that with just jobsite tools".

I always wondered if I could whip up a passable corbel using cedar with my basic jobsite tools. The answer is likely 50/50. I didn't clamp any of this, use a saw guide, sander, miter saw, table saw, or chisels. I didn't want to just do 45s so I did 35⁰ and 55⁰ because they add up to 90⁰ and my skilsaws go up to 57⁰. This little build told me more about my cordless DeWalt jigsaw than anything else. It cut these curves in one pass without bogging down. I must've been forcing it through with all my weight and it still made some pretty square curved cuts that just needed to be sanded. I have a newfound respect for that saw. It was pretty fun all around. Joints are 85% snug and I had to beat them in with another piece of scrap 4x4. Definitely recommend messing around if you've never tried something like this before. It was fun.
