I wish we could have got to see more of Noa living under Proximus' rule and see Noa take the throne/vault and fufill the true meaning of Ceasar's words

In the last of these new films, we shall get to see apes travelling space only to get to an earth with humans ruling the waves...Full circle but with a twist.

I have a feeling the next planet of the apes film will be called “Ark of the Planet of the Apes”. And use Noah as sort of a Noah’s Ark kind of figure, traveling a new land for the Apes to build a new Kingdom.

It was humanity's hubris that lead to the planet of apes and it's humanity's hubris that will lead to more conflict that may eventually wipe out either humanity, apes, or (much like Beneath the Planet of the Apes) will lead to destruction of not just both sides but the whole planet (or maybe everything will turn out dandy you never know jury is still out on the outcome of this new conflict)

Easily the best video I’ve seen on this film. I’ve seen it twice now and it was even better the second time. I think people are overlooking/dismissing the brilliance of this one because of their fondness of Caesar’s trilogy. Everyone has their own opinion and taste but you completely nailed the themes presented here. I missed the knowledge and power dynamic and looking back it was so obvious lol. Thank you and I couldn’t hit the like button fast enough. What a wonderful video!!

I thought the movie was great, but I disagree with a few of your points. I think the movie having Noa question his father’s leadership was more of a buildup for his out of the box thinking rather than a criticism of his father’s leadership. The point the movie seemed to be making was about following blindly rather than a criticism about the leadership itself. You had Noa’s father who lead with tradition for the benefit of his people, Raka who followed what he believed to be Caesar’s teachings, and Proximus who searched for and twisted knowledge to benefit himself. You see how Noa questions each belief, but settles on preserving his tribes traditions instead of just blindly accepting Proximus’ laws. It’s not criticizing Noa’s father’s leadership, but showing Noa learning to understand his father which leads to his bird accepting Noa.

If you think about it ,there were a lot of Bible references such as the name Noah, the dam being built alongside a huge boat, and the flood having to do with washing away knowledge yet being the catalyst for so much more to come.

Why can’t we get this kind of brilliant storytelling with Star Wars? I wish someone would put respect on Anakin, kenobi, Han, Leia and Luke in a way that the sequels and other Disney projects never did.

I'm sorry I love the movie but the fact Mei is wearing normal clothes was either dumb or giving away the twist that she was actually smart which was so distracting to me all the stuff where Noa see her like an animal and the telescope scene really didn't hit as hard as it should have.

Ответить

The fact they're slowly growing into a culture where names like Cornelius or Zaïus feel normal is really doing it for me.

I love the detail of how every time Proximus says "EVOLUTION" he looks at his human "assistant" to make sure he pronounced it right. It's such a minuscule detail and yet says things about him as a character. (also happening in the great dinner scene)

Everything i saw in the movie goes along with the story line. How survivors still held onto advanced technology. This part of the story line is in the second movie from the sixties. Or seventies. To long ago to remember when.

lmao I thought this movie absolutely sucked. every scene predictable and cliché and very classic modern Disney. Just so lazy and overused tropes that just frustrate me to hell. It genuinely cracked me up when the girl got into the enclave bunker, opened a weapon locker and it had like 3 rifles in it and then immediately found the maguffin that could've been replaced with a ham radio

Personally I think the surviving humans will become the secret underground human society we see in the original planet of the apes movies. I think the Noah trilogy would build up Ceasars legend as a religion and seeing Apes forming a society, with the third film us seeing them wear clothes more commonly during winter. I think the last trilogy would actually be a remake of the original Planet of the Apes but with the given lore of the previous films.

I think that this movie lags ever so slightly behind the trilogy which is way beyond anything I could have expected. The thing that I sorely miss about Matt Reeves directing is the sense of texture that he was able to develop. It was as if you could feel the fog in Dawn or the snow in War, and that simply isn't something that I feel in this one because I think that that texture is unique to Reeves. I don't think that there was a "No" moment either necessarily like there was in Rise not that there needed to be, but it was something that was uniquely powerful in Rise. That's enough negativity though, this film was fantastic. Something I loved in particular was the telescope/space motif, and I really hope that that is something that they retain and further develop in future. I'm a mathematician who has had the opportunity to work alongside astronomers (astronomy is incredibly mathematically dense, but to be honest, they really just needed a programmer), and something I've thought about a lot is the start of the scientific revolution. In our timeline, it started in astronomy with Copernicus, but a part of me wonders when I look at the sky if that is always how it happens like if the stars are, in a sense, unique in their ability to instill a capacity for wonder in us. With the telescope being Noah's enlightenment, I wonder if that's what Wes Ball was potentially going for. I love this film it's like an 8.6/10 while still leaving room for a potential Dawn-quality sequel.

At the beginning of the film Raka says that the tribes were destroyed, Cesar's clan. Where the narrative will have a development of simeos with laws and constitutions. Have you seen a very superficially constructed narrative? No one mentioned the connection between simians and humans was very weak. There wasn't anything that grabbed me and made me want to cheer, as everything was predictable.

This kingdom film came as a disapointment to me, as I was expecting a new original story this time, but instead it's ANOTHER trek across a derelict landscape film again.
Now the "Apes franchise" is suffering the same fate as the Terminator films - same story syndrome.
I was expecting a human ape uprising against some tyrant King Ape, but that wasnt the case, instead they stuck to formula

Dont get me wrong, I thought it was great. But it was no Dawn. Also, the over the top makeup on Mae as well as the actress’ painfully obviously poor American accent was distracting. Her acting was fine though. I got taken right out of the movie with Suna/Zuna’s voice. The others had an animalistic grit and grunts to them still while she was talking like a high-pitched modern girl today in her first scene. Little poor choices like these added up for me to rank it lower among the other movies. I hope the next movie in the series is done a little more carefully. I’m hopeful.

I love the trilogy! The relationships and the storyline is AMAZING! But I didn’t see the same type of effort put into the relationships in this film. Especially towards Mei and Noah. The start was very confusing how they acted like they knew each other for years, even dying for Mei mid movie like? Maybe I just miss Ceaser and his gentle and loving nature but I would love rewatch it again and give it a second chance!
