Hot Springs Buskers Guild is an organization of street performers that entertain pedestrians in the streets of the Historic Downtown District of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Mission
To unite street and small venue performers in a beneficial organization aimed at initiating and promoting the rights to express their emotions, thoughts, skills, and acts through the art of performance on the streets of Downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas.

To work with local businesses, city and state governing offices, and the members of this guild to provide reasonable places of which to perform under reasonable rules and regulations.

To work with controlling authority to adopt reasonable rules and regulations.

To promote a positive view of street performers who abide by the laws to bring the public a cultural rich experience in the art of busking.
Description
Street performance or busking is the practice of performing in public places, for gratuities, which are generally in the form of money. People engaging in this practice are called street performers, buskers, street musicians, minstrels, or troubadours.

Street performance dates back to antiquity, and occurs all over the world.

Performances can be just about anything that people find entertaining. Performers may do acrobatics, animal tricks, balloon twisting, card tricks, caricatures, clowning, comedy, contortions and escapes, dance, singing, fiddling, fire eating, fire breathing, fortune-telling, juggling, magic, mime and a mime variation where the artist performs as a living statue, musical performance, puppeteering, snake charming, storytelling or recite poetry or prose as a bard, street art such as sketching and painting, street theatre, sword swallowing, and even put on a flea circus.
General Information
Although the guild excepts and promotes buskers as a whole, our specific purpose is based around musical performances. We support other forms of busking, however, due to restrictions on the historic streets of Hot Springs we are currently facing an enormous obstacle with a thing as simple as playing a guitar on the street.

So with that in mind, we want to focus on getting a basic set of allowances for the simplest and most fitting to the city before we undertake the task of expansion, which we do look forward to doing in coming years. Support Me Here At This Link
