In the Chishtia Silsila, Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Aulia Mehboob-e-Elahi (RA) Delhi, was famous for his love of sama in the Qawwali form in his Khanqah, qawwali was a daily ritual where his most beloved mureed Hazrat Ameer Khusro (RA) was ever present. The sub-continent owes it musical heritage to him. He laid down the basis for all ragas in the Hindi music, defeating hindi musician Naik Gopal in the court of Alauddin Khilji, on the instructions of his murshid Khawaja Nizamuddin Aulia (RA).
Qawwali is based on Ameer Khusro (RA) rules of QOL, RUNG, QULBANA, GUL, HAWA, NAQASH O NIGAR AND TARANA etc.
