As much as I like the idea of ppl showing a network their frustration I think in this case HBO did everything right, they wanted the show to be 10 seasons, they gave the creators unlimited budget and recources to do whatever they wanted, it was a showrunners dream come true. They writers are the ones who insisted on having shorter seasons and wrapping things up as soon as possible, I can't put any blame on HBO they did everything they could

I was such a huge GOT fan, but I haven't even thought about the series since that awful finale, it's just too infuriating they thought such lazy writing was passable.

Fans guessed jon snow was rhaegars son years before the show started and they never felt the need to "subvert expectations" there.

I'm not going to watch the prequel because what's the point of an origin story of a guy who was so easy to beat? Seriously? I could not care less. And as far as D&D go, I will NEVER watch anything that has either or both of their names attached to it. EVER. Shame on them, shame on HBO for approving those God awful scripts, shame on GRRM for not staying involved with the show.

I tried to rewatch season 8 again now that some time has come by but child it's a lot honestly I can't watch ep 1, 2 and 4 because those are fillers, waste of time and screen time, but on a visual/cinematographic note episode 3, 5 and the start of episode 6 until drogon leaves, are very wonderful but the rest it so much disappointing to me.
It's a shame for such show

I don't understand!!! Why would we not be entitled??? We pay HBO subscription????? They should do at least the last three episodes!!!

A couple of months ago, HBO celebrated the Sopranos anniversary by showing every season's episode consecutively up until the last one. My husband and I totally enjoyed watching it once again. On the other hand, I will never watch HBO's GoT ever again. I don't need to go through that disappointment twice.

So we lost but won because maybe other shows wont make the same mistake? i mean yea the season was rushed if nearly 2 million peoples voices get ignored thats like Trump losing by over a million votes but still winning because of a BS political loop hole that shouldnt exist. if only the tv/movie industry had an electoral college

What's even the point of having these petitions if they ain't going to work regardless? I think it's just a therapeutic way for disgruntled people to get their opinions only just to find out that nothing will change. Now if we stormed HBO and did it the middle Eastern way then maybe.

I don’t think this article is evidence that we “won” or that the executives really listened at all. They put the issue to bed without acknowledging that the writing was in point of fact piss poor, basically citing that fan expectations were too high for any creative team to match. I can appreciate that they are showing loyalty to their employees. But the fact that they haven’t redressed any mistakes, promised to do better, or promised to listen to fans in any capacity AT ALL is cowardly. And it’s pretty damning to their chance of successfully launching a prequel series. Which is a shame, since George is fairly involved with the development, and it should therefore be quality. At least in the beginning stages while he remains involved.

I agree season 8 rubbish and ive already vented and cried lol. But seriously its true i dont want to go back and even watch the great episodes its all a sad reminder i fully invested got excited counted down for season 8 and was completely screwed over. Il prob never watch got again. As for the prequel why bother im not going to risk watching it for t same thing to happen... il never get those wasted years back..

As much as I hated season 8 and wasn’t fond of season 7 either, it is a stretch to say the petition was a “win” for the fandom. There was never going to be a “win” for the fandom because the series is forever damaged. The petition was just a place for fans to sign off and acknowledge that they were not happy with the season.....then let it go. It was suppose to be therapeutic. When you keep holding it to your chest like it’s an accomplishment and a badge of honor, now you are just a whiner. Whining is NEVER winning.

As upset and angry with the ending of GOT as everyone was/is, and I’m one of them, life sometimes means accepting the things you can’t change and moving on.

A win would be for the fandom to not support anything else these guys put out there. YOUR dollars are the only true tool of protest and change. Don’t invest your time or money to anything associated. That is the best you can do otherwise accept it for what it is and temper your enjoyment of it accordingly.

But for the love of humanity, stop the whining and take actual action.

Over 8 years, I have wasted about $200+ dollars worth of Game of Thrones related stuff. Subscription, Merchandise and Blu-Ray DVD'S, events, and drinks. After Episode 5, I found the biggest box I could, and packed off everything and sealed it up. That box now sits in the far corners of my attic.

After the credits rolled in Episode 6, I went straight to my TV provider and cancelled my HBO subscription, and I didn't regret a damn thing. I invested time and money into this show for 8 fucking years, as did mostly every other fan did. And after that finale, I realized how stupid I am that I put all of that side money into this show. I cannot fathom how wasted it all feels. So no, I don't plan on giving my money into anything D&D related. All I want is a refund for all of those years and money spent into this show. The disappointment is still there.

D&D had to have ruined season 8 intentional. I mean it was so terrible, I High School writer could have done better. This wasn’t a situation where the writers weren’t in sink with the fans. It was simply terrible. D&D are definitely made up writers to satisfy a rich producer. They screwed up Wolverine. How do you make Wolverine boring? I won’t watch a D&D written show or movie. Unless others watch and give a great review.

I heard Kit Harrington checked into rehab for depression and alcohol misuse. Do you think the shit last season did that to him? He said publicly it was the show ending that did it - but clearly he will have signed something to prevent him making negative comments (although he did make a few anyway)

I wish they would do something to fix this for the fans. Re-watchability is completely ruined and it went to shit.

The funniest thing is that I actually went and watched the series over after these last few months away, just to see if maybe fresh eyes and a clear head might change things...and, uh, yeah...Season 8? It's actually worse than I remember LOL.
