My face when 1 Pin broke off the Mainboard, and my PC does not boot anymore :(
ОтветитьThat pushing down part ... I remember it from the time I built THIS PC like 8 years ago... and now I've got a brand new intel chipset to play with but ...I took one look at the socket on the board and almost fainted, hahaha. It's funny because, I've done this before, but I remember that... metal... pin sound and it feels like you just flushed a few hundred dollars down the toilet every time.. even if you never did. It's a horrible sound, I don't understand why it's even a thing. The nature of it's origin I suppose, has a lot to do with that... (and how expensive / delicate it is) ...knowing it's made to do that, somehow doesn't alleviate my uh... my problem... this is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than nails on a chalkboard. The first time I heard it, I wanted to cry, hahaha.... I just thought "...oh no..."
ОтветитьJust as a heads up, the instructions for my CPU said to take the plastic cover off before fastening the lid, and the lid goes down far better that way.
ОтветитьIt don’t fit 😭
ОтветитьWish I saw this before I destroyed everthinf
ОтветитьThanks a lot. Definitely thought I bought an incompatible cpu for the mobo socket with how much force I needed to apply. You saved me a ton dude.
Ответитьmay i please have tht CPU 😭 please
Ответитьshould have watched this video before I tried to replace the plastic protector as I put it under the metal piece and bent a bunch of pins. :(
ОтветитьIf the cpu slot is bigger than my cpu is that ok. I have the newest i9 so idk why my motherboard doesn’t fit it right
ОтветитьBro thank you I was stressing out when I was closing it but when I saw this vid it made me feel relieved
ОтветитьHey, I just want you to know this help me out a lot because I was worried I did it wrong and then I watch this and immediately went out. I did it correctly.
ОтветитьAs a left handed clumsy person, should I even attempt to do this?
ОтветитьThe retention lever is hard to press down I aligned triangle and notches and also wiggled it a bit to make sure it was in there not hard very softly
ОтветитьStraight to the point thank you
ОтветитьHow tight should my heatsink be? I was told if it is too tight that you can bend the pins on a LGA 1200 board.
ОтветитьThanks, I’m tired of having to watch a 30 minute video on just how to install a cpu while holding the cpu in my hand trying to get it right
ОтветитьSo fuckin sensitive pins bent new motherboard...and cant rma ...
ОтветитьI’ve broken 2 pins😂😢
ОтветитьI love the intel because the pins arent in the CPU but in the MOT and i usually drop small things
ОтветитьThis felt SOOO wrong its so damn firm i thought i was bending its soul out
ОтветитьSo my first time i changed my paste and closed the shield i thought i did something wrong because it was s bit hard to close but nothing happened
ОтветитьThanks for telling the crunch sound when locking the cpu is normal 😅. When I installed my intel cpu it made 1 click sound when locking. When I locked it completely it made another loud click and that’s when the protective cover fell of so I got a bit worried whether my computer would work.
ОтветитьI did the same thing but somehow motherboard cpu pins got crooked ! Oh well i guess you need a phd to install it 😂
ОтветитьI have four months of experience and this is my next step to replace my motherboard and processor… thank you, this is sure to alleviate my nerves ☺️
ОтветитьThanks you 😘
ОтветитьThanks for the quick and informational video. No bs just straight to the point.
ОтветитьSo you basically have to pop the motherboard's plastic cherry? Neat!
ОтветитьI made a mess of first motherboard, and on getting 2nd still not sure if the cpu is OK my son reckons it is after checking it, now waiting for him to place the cpu in a new motherboard. I honestly cannot see the arrow on the cpu and was looking for it. My son has his own life, but have to wait for him as too stressed to try it again.
ОтветитьYes of course, once you close the levers, then open them again, pull out the CPU and enjoy the crooked pins.
Socket 1700 and its closing are badly designed at the factory. Half of the motherboards end up in complaint services.
hi i have one doubt
i removed the cpu cover without lifting the metal frame up ( the metal frame was open but just not lifted up ), then i lifted the metal frame up then i saw the pins on socket and i saw something scratchy between pins i dont know that is bend or what but i installed cpu then clossed the metal frame completely .
so the question is does the cpu cover can touch the pins of socket at any condition if it is installed in the metal frame?
it it cant touch then the pins are bent out of the box i guess
What if your motherboard doesn’t have a triangle?
ОтветитьNext week I have to go through this nightmare again. I am building another desktop. Intel i7 LGA 1200 motherboard. I am not ready for this again.
Ответитьi am so happy that intel cpu's no longer have pins. especially since the cpu is usually more expensive than your motherboard. but i wish that the motherboard could have a format like the intel cpu where it also does not have pins. imagine if the motherboard had a flat surface format like the intel cpu and the two surfaces just had to be flush in order to make a signal connection? that would be sick and save on e-waste.
Ответитьjust put my new I9-11900k into New MSIz590 Gaming carbon WIFI and did not hear any crunching at all the cover cpu cover come out as it should, is this still ok
ОтветитьBro i just instaled intel i3 but i remove plastic cover before... Pc is runing but did i damage something is it possible?
Ответитьi bent the pins the first time i did this like 2 years ago (though i didn't google anything about how to do it) and now i'm terrified that i'll break a several hundred dollar motherboard
ОтветитьThis was the most terrifying CPU install I have ever done.. lol crunnnnch crick craaack. oh man. Thanks for the video
ОтветитьBreaking my cpu literally terrifies me. thank you for this video
ОтветитьNow....how do you remove the CPU without dropping it lol
ОтветитьWhen I heard those pins crunching I was stressing like crazy. This was exactly the video I needed thanks!
Ответитьthe sounds still gives me chills every time
ОтветитьJust getting ready to install one and I was like why cant someone make a quick and simple vid showing and bam, found yours. Thank you!
ОтветитьThere is about 0.5-1 mm gap on 1200 which is extremely high comparing to literally zero on 1366 10 years ago.
What side to align is better?
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьI need help… so I have a i7 cpu and I’m trying to take out my old one and it doesn’t have a bracket it has to little buttons and I need help
Ответитьty
Ответитьjust a quick question, how much force is it supposed to take to install it? i have a 11900K and i haven’t installed it yet, but i was worried about the amount of pressure i have to put on the lever to get it down all the way.
Ответитьi have the same motherboard
ОтветитьThanks for this, I'm building an i7-11700K PC
ОтветитьI just bought a lga 1200 11900k cpu and a hero Xlll mobo...wish me luck :D
