I wish GM still made the Camaro because imagine what a Camaro with an LT6 would be like, maybe put it in the z28 model or something.
ОтветитьNothing the gay men (GM) makes will ever top Ford. Those off brand ferrais aren't impressive at all.
ОтветитьDon't be jealous, Be excited that we still have competition between automakers. If we didn't, we all would still be driving Model T's
ОтветитьYou mean GM is finally paying another company to develop an engine that might be competitive with what Ford was making in the 60’s…..
ОтветитьYou say the corvette has to up their game, they’ve up their game it has a monster LT6.
ОтветитьAm I missing something or does the converted dyno for the GT 350 show it making ~460lb ft and ~535hp? Why isn't converted to 529hp or 426lb ft?
ОтветитьYou forget about the 1990s LT5. DOHC 7.0 v8. 32 valve
ОтветитьFord can’t build a car without recalls. Doubt they have anything in the pipeline. By the way I owns super charged Coyote.
ОтветитьI'm sure that GM is just building their street motor to prepare for new nascar overhead cam engines.
ОтветитьDoesn't matter. In one generation, we will all be driving electric cars. Which we already see offer terrific performance; if congress had created laws creating standardization of quick change replaceable battery packs, we wouldn't need special charging stations, and there would be no nonsense about battery range. In a short time, we could have had battery exchange infrastructure at service stations right along with the old fossil fuel pumps. Bayonet connectors on flat battery packs which slide and connect underneath the cars could be exchanged even quicker than filling a tank with gas/diesel. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, we have to protect the auto manufacturers profits by allowing them all to have separate designs for connectors. We saw the standardization of other types of batteries slashing the costs to consumers, and we currently see 'proprietary' battery case designs which double or triple the cost of tool batteries even though the internal cells ARE THE SAME. All to keep profits up, keeping the cost of transportation more expensive to the consumers.
ОтветитьGM always waits around to see how what Ford makes washes, then starts copying…the most sincere form of flattery.
Ответитьget a new chair please
ОтветитьGM will always be on top. Nothing new really
ОтветитьFord crapped on their overhead cam V-8 right in the beginning when they decided to use the bore center of the small block Ford at 3.93". Condemned to mediocrity forever...
ОтветитьYou can't take a chassis dyno graph and make an accurate graph of the engine Dyno, especially in the lower RPM range.. This whole Dyno graph comparison is flawed right from the beginning. Torque is primarily a function of displacement and compression, I highly doubt the 5.2 Voodoo engine is making more torque anywhere across the RPM scale.
ОтветитьOnce you do 529 HP NA, just add a Blowa.
ОтветитьYes
ОтветитьCome on man all S550 GT350's were rated 526 horsepower NOT 529 and I'm a GM guy through and through
ОтветитьGM has had the technology to decimate Ford for decades -- it is just entertaining to keep them around to share subsidiary technologies with. A lot of it has to do with the intelligence of the consumer, and anyone who has worked with the General Public knows how dumb they are...
ОтветитьValve lash set for life? After dealing with burnt valves on Toyota engines due to neglected valve adjustments, I will believe this when I see it. All I can say is that I hope GM used some super hard material for the valve seats.
ОтветитьYour chair has a bald spot
ОтветитьThey been did that and made us come out with a push-rod engine we need to make the coyote a push-rod engine
ОтветитьDude what about the GT500
ОтветитьLmao.....did they actually build these engines or design them ???? Their first DOHC engine was a Lotus design built by Mercury Marine......get real son
Ответить🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ummm u do know that ford has a Godzilla engine? Yup a 7.4 gas engine 😊😊 good luck corvette 😂😂😂😂 new Shelby is coming out with 1000k horsepower 🤣🤣🤣

ОтветитьNot a Chevy fan, but every once in a while they slay it. When the LT5 in the ZR1 came out I think this motivated Ford to find a way to rapidly catch up in fear that DOHC smallblocks were on the way from GM (Remember, Ford showed this was a monsterous powermaker in the 60's with the SOHC motors). The modulars had to be "panic response" from this realization. If we're honest, the early modulars definitely were poor performers and I think this was due to Ford playing "catch-up" to it's European and Japanese counterparts and trying to find ways to affordably integrate this technology into production.
Could you imagine if GM invested earlier into retooling what became the LS series with a DOHC top end for SS/WS6 models?
It could have been a legitimate end to the Mustang if we're honest.
I couldn't see an LS with an efficient DOHC head on cam phasers making less than ~450hp and probably ~400ft-lbs and then dialing mechanical timing back to lope long and still get 30mpg like tall-ratio LS 4th Gen's did.
Oh well, woulda, coulda, shoulda.
Ford needs to copy the lambo now lol
ОтветитьWell the valve train thing is completely reasonable considering that most manufacturers consider the life of the vehicle to be 100,000 miles
Ответитьand lots of this gm engines are in the junk yard
ОтветитьThe cost of ford parts to gm parts the cost effective theories are shot all to shit I'm building a pushrod 5.0 right now. Still kick myself in ass for not just building a sbc that can handle double what the ford can for same money it takes to build this 5.0 I thought about coyote swapping the sn95 until I priced it out I could build a bbc with double the numbers for the cost of the wild mutt engine then the cost to put parts on the mutt is ridiculous so save the BBC and sbc parts I have for a gm car I'm not into the whole swap seen on something that came with a known 8 cyl power plant there are enough mutt builds out there already its so funny how the ls and technology and boost has made so many look like they know what the he'll there doing I would love to hand factory sbc or sbf or Mopar with choice of factory casting heads and block .then do build off with dollars spent and parts used to build a 1//4 mile car naturally aspirated see why
ОтветитьWhat's the deck height of the 5.5 zo6
ОтветитьFord has a new engine so bring it on the mustang has dual intake throttle bodies on it now an they redesigned the engine from start to finish so I hope u know that
ОтветитьOne guy put a super charger on his Vette... A few folks have put twin turbos on their's... Turbos are putting out 1200 horse power... The super charger, putting out 1,000 horse power........
ОтветитьI don't know how much the LT6 can be stroked- it needs the long connecting rods to keep rotating physics in check to get the high rpms where you get the most benefit from the flat plane.
ОтветитьJust saw a dyno run on the ZO6. 610 HP to the rear wheels with no power additives.
ОтветитьIn 1950 Ford had a flathead V-8, Chevy had an inline 6, while Chrysler had a Hemi V-8, Chrysler has always been ahead in engine design
ОтветитьModular motorsports racing has a stock coyote block capable of 2,000.hp & 4,000hp Forged block. Koenigsegg used a Ford mod design. Freevalve would be awesome.

ОтветитьYou need to compare it to the ford gt not the mustang. That’s why the pricing looks so crazy I mean a ford gt is 400k and the z06 blew it out the water in VIR so compare this to it. Rather than the cheap mustang
ОтветитьI’d say no GM with the new mid engine setup allows for u restricted intake and exhaust configuration. Ford Shelby gt350 has an exhaust, intake and displacement restriction. So it’s not a true apples to apples.
ОтветитьZ06Corvette . eth Sold for 1/2 MILLION 😂🤣🤣 Which one of you rich dudes snagged it???
ОтветитьThis LT6 engine is amazing but i have a problem with the C08 Z06, the very higher final drive ratio 5.56:1 is too short for a flat plane cranckshaft V8 with high revs like the LT6 and decrease dramatically the top speed. For me lower final drive ratio 2.90:1 or 3.0:1 are the best for LT6 because flat plane cranckshaft gives naturally high revs and a longer final drive ratio gives top speed, that's the perfect mixture for accelerations and top speed association.👍
Ответитьwhy are you tryin to compare a mustang with a corvette??? stick to smacking camaros arownd. dont think you can jump in the ring with tyson because you just won a drunken bar fight.
ОтветитьI don't know why ford people keep tryin to best GM....🤣🤣🤣 they Hella happy for that coyote engine 2.. Gm said hold up.. let me rain on ya Lil parade remind yall that yall still ford. 🤧.
ОтветитьThe ZO6 is one of the fastest cars in the world from 0 to 60
ОтветитьI like the ford crossplane it’s an odd ball
But still makes like 530 horse at 7500 rpm and has a redline of 8 that’s so bad ass
Ford was not attempting to create an ultimate "road-going-race-engine" when developing the Shelby GT350 Voodoo engine. They wanted to develop a high revving 530hp engine that is "reliable" off already produced parts, which they accomplished. Ford was intending on boosting the Voodoo, for the GT500, so it could retain reliability and produce gobs of power. I like the idea that General motors developed a road going race engine, and producing the MOST powerful naturally aspirated V8 motor ever put in a PRODUCTION car.
I, however, am partial to Dodge's philosophy, there is no replacement for displacement. A properly stroked Viper V10 produces not only a lot of power more than the 5.5l Overhead cam engine but has reliability to boot. Also, despite the Viper having such a large motor it still weighs between 3363-3420 pounds, depending on trim level. A 9.0L 2V per cylinder push rod V8 pumping out 900hp on 93 octane is a road going modified production engine that can compete with crazy cars like the McLaren 720s.
All that said, if I were rich the C8 Z06 would be in my collection, especially since it has that unique 5.56 final drive axle ratio, making it a bullet off the line, but of course compromising top end velocity, but who cares, because it still can hit 195mph. . .
