Choose your methylfolate dosage with caution, together with your doctor to prevent over-methylation. Taking too much methylfolate can cause side effects, such as severe anxiety, nausea, insomnia, migraines, irritability, achy joints, headaches, and more.

23andMe DO NOT test for this mutation (contrary to what Dr.Berg suggests)
(from their website) 'Although we recognize there is interest in reports on the following topics, 23&Me reports are not available on the following topics.

MTHFR analysis, such as a targeted mutation analysis, methylation analysis or detox profile
Copy number variations (CNVs), balanced rearrangements and mosaicism
Trinucleotide Repeat Disorders

This is bad information. Many can't tolerate methylfolate. I have the basic mthfr mutation and methylfolate which I'm "suppose" to take makes me have horrible shortness of breath at any dose. Some need folinic acid instead. Methylation requires way more insight that just saying synthetic bad, methyl form good.

For years I’ve had low hemoglobin that didn’t get better with iron infusions, vitamin b12 injections, prescription synthetic folic acid and lots of red meat and even liver. I also had lots of trouble putting on weight because of low appetite, on top of that insomnia and adhd symptoms.. They even prescribed EPO injections (also knows as doping) to stimulate my body to produce red blood cells. It was either that, or blood transfusions, but my hemoglobin was just a fraction too high for blood transfusion..

But even the EPO injections didn’t quite work, it did do something, but very little, so I quit those too.

Then I started taking methylfolate and this for me has been the KEY for succes. Every symptom improves immediately, my mood, sleep, appetite, my hormonal health. My body finally produces red blood cells without any need for EPO injections or iron infusions. I know it’s the folate because when I run out, or simply forget to re order, I get my symptoms back. It makes me feel like a normal human.

The mutation makes it impossible to process out the folic acid synthetic junk, which clogs the liver and prevents it from processing the good folate. 20-40% of the population are being p0isoned to deàth, and pregnant women are getting autistic fetus'.

Thank you, Dr Berg.
Without your videos, I’d probably be in much worse shape. You are helping me figure out this puzzle of a body.
I grew up eating a lot of bread and pasta. Now, I am suffering for it, I realize.
My grandmother had Alzheimer’s and my Mother died of intestinal cancer. Both, ate lots of grains and sugar. When my middle son was born he had Supra ventricular tachycardia… bad electrical system of the heart…. Probably, because I was not getting enough natural folate and he and I both, did not have enough B12.
All of this, most likely because of MTHFR gene.

Just because you tolerate the synthetic vitamins, doesn’t mean you should.

MTHFR is so important to know! I have been healed of asthma due to learning about it and doing the right form of B9, healthy diet, exercise...what a relief. Also, 23andM3 gives you the raw data which you then have to send to another sire for translation. Search for strategene or Dr.Ben Lynch.

Make sure not to take too much methyl folate. I went way overboard taking up to 4 mg and then was so restless and couldn't sleep. Luckily it is water soluble and you can take B3 Niacin to counteract teh overmethylation.

Dr. Berg, I forgot I had saved this video weeks ago. I have RA and take methotrexate, 2.5 mg ea week. Recently there was a change in my rheumatologist and he put me on Folic Acid which I was not prescribed by my previous rheumatologist. My hair sheds constantly. I stopped taking the prescribed Folic Acid since I deduced this supplement may be causing my hair to shed like I had a dog in my home. Should I let my body reset before I try the L-Methylfolate. I was not having any issues before and was diagnosed with RA 4 yrs ago. My hair has thinned out considerably. I’m so upset about this. My health is great aside from RA which is totally manageable. I’m very blessed.
