Thank you Seth Miranda for your generosity by sharing so much with us through your great channel! Oh wow the roof top event looked that it was a fantastic event and yes it is good to see what The Everyday Photographer does and uses and The Comic Con Event it sure is a great place to see that.
ОтветитьThank you for doing this video!! I was there on Saturday and it was crazy!! Thank you for letting us see the insights on what, why and how people shoot. I was very intimidated to ask people to stop so I was side busting, sorry, but I always tried to stay out of the way of the main photographer. I am sharing this with my girlfriend who was asking people for portraits while I sniper-ed people haha.
ОтветитьGreat coverage! Almost as good as being there!
ОтветитьTHIS WAS EXTREMELY INCREDIBLE AND FUN WATCHING THIS. I ENJOYED LISTENING TO THE VARIOUS PHOTOGRAPHERS EXPLAIN THEIR APPROACH TO SHOOTING THEIR IMAGES. I LEARNED A LOT. THAMKS YOU FOR THE HARD WORK YOU PUT INTO SHARING THIS WITH US. I ALMOST FELT I WAS THERE👍👍
ОтветитьThanks for this! It was a neat look into how different types of photographers are approaching the event a bit differently.
ОтветитьHey Seth, great to see behind the scenes at an event I have never been to. And seeing a culture I know nothing about. Thanks so much for putting all this effort in to bring us so many photographers stories and approaches. Love the Rolleiflex
ОтветитьAwesome Video! And i‘m not even really interested in Comiccon or cosplays. Great talks!
ОтветитьLegendary! Thanks Seth. Best hour of photography related content since... well your last one really
ОтветитьSeth!! This was an awesome video!!! Thank you so much for opening up this world for us to see! It was great to see the different setups!
ОтветитьSeth, thank you so much for not only documenting your NYCC experience but sharing what goes on in our world. Hell I was there for all four days and though I spoke with a lot of other photographers/videographers, it was great to the insight and perspective of the photographers in this video along with their workflows. Like I was talking with Kenny Mathieson for a good 30 minutes at the end of Day 2, and he gave me so much game on life and photography that truly inspired me. Thank you again my man!
ОтветитьThanks, Seth!
ОтветитьSeth this was epic! That hour flew by coz all of the interviews were so engaging and interesting. Got me excited to try going to a con someday and try shooting it!
ОтветитьGreat stuff! So nice to see some attention paid to the folks behind the cameras, their goals, approaches, etc
ОтветитьSeth do you work for Uber Eats or Postmates? because everytime I come to your channel all you seem to do is deliver. This video was incredible
ОтветитьThis was really fun and informative to watch. Thank you!
ОтветитьThat was fun! Loved the guy who called himself a thick light stand. 🤣 Surprised by how many are shooting with that 28-70 f2 beast. Also interesting that most were shooting Canon, Sony, Nikon. No Leica, Fuji, Panasonic.
ОтветитьAfter spending all weekend on the show floor myself,it’s great being able to sit back and relax watching all your behind the scenes content! Appreciate the grind! What mic system are you using for your audio? Sounds great for the run and fun.
ОтветитьThanks for taking us along!! Much cheaper "going" with you. :)
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьWhat a circus! Joking aside, this is really interesting. I watched recent video by a street photographer from Vancouver, at the Comic Con there. He kept it simple: one camera, one lens, no lights. As here, there are lots of fascinating costumes/people just waiting to be photographed. Thanks for the wide-ranging documentary here, Seth.
ОтветитьWas a fun watch. I'm always tempted to do con stuff after going to animeNYC a few years ago, but I never do because of time and money commitments. But it seems like I should so I can actually be part of the community of these and get my name out there.
ОтветитьNice job Seth, how are your knuckles after the sony event?
ОтветитьGreat video Seth! Nice to see all the different setups at the con... everybody knows about the photographers in the tunnel but its cool to see all the folks out there who are mobile 👍 👍
ОтветитьLove the film guy
ОтветитьMore of this! So fun to be able to see the community and the BTS. You are kicking it Seth 🖤
ОтветитьI really enjoy the discourse and your questions were right on point. Well done. Not really into shoot at Cons but this was super interesting.
ОтветитьMan I miss living in NYC.
ОтветитьHow amazing is this... The ComicCon in my country happens like 80% Harley Quins and 20% Spidermans from ALiExpress and all that shot with phones...Anyway, Seth, you are great!
ОтветитьMany thanks for the hard work my friend, super interesting to see what kit people are lugging round, a great angle for sure
ОтветитьI was there Sunday and enjoying the event AND watching the photographers do their thing. This was a great video. You talking to all the photographers was very interesting.
ОтветитьNever thought I'd spend an hour of my life watching something about Comic Con - but that was great! Fun to see the vibe of the community and everyone's thought process.
ОтветитьWow, this is so insightful of what truly goes on from the photographers perspective! Really cool content! This might be one of my favorite videos from you Seth! Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьSeth, that was great! I’ve never shot at a Con before but now I really want to!
ОтветитьWooo thanks for the feature. Great to meet you !!!
ОтветитьThank you, Seth. Learning how others shoot at cons like this is fantastic. I’ve been to NYCC often in the past with my kids, but never to take photos. I finally did this year at PAX East in Boston and it was an incredible learning experience. Seeing how people approach it at NYCC is great. Have you ever considered putting together a video on how to shoot cosplayers, something besides your great SFX work?
ОтветитьAs someone who shoots australian cons for the last 5 or so years which are only 2 days its a great insight into this crazyness. 4 days! I generally do event coverage so im all around trying to shoot BTS and cosplayers but rarely with lights as i cant cover all the stage and other events with the bulk. I am trying to use a tube lights now to get some more smooth lighting without the bulk of having to use flash and diffusers.
ОтветитьI do Comic-Cons in the Southeastern US. I shoot a 3 light setup and a black backdrop using atmosphere in a can and gels to get my effects. I really like to focus on the creation of the cosplayer. I was never a fan of green screen because I felt the cosplayer would get lost pretty easily in the backgrounds. Also being able to be fast and accurate in camera as much as possible because on a busy day I have 1-3 minutes to pose, shoot, edit and print on site. It can get pretty crazy but it is always a blast!
ОтветитьThis was so much fun to watch! Thanks for the great video! I never knew that it’s a thing to do huge setups at Comic Con.

ОтветитьThe amount of flashes and strobes I saw near the tunnel was bonkers. I went Saturday and Sunday but I had to buy a flash that’s powered by AA batteries when the day before (friday) at an unofficial comic con after party, the mount on my flashpoint Zoom LI-ON X R2s flash broke and Adorama was closed Friday night and all of Saturday. I ended up getting the metal mount for the R2s flash on Sunday but other than that, I had an amazing Comic Con experience and I’m doing it again next year.
Also, I was up at the rooftop for the Adorama event on Thursday. I used to work in that building but never knew there was rooftop access. Then again, that’s Sony’s rooftop and I was working at a company known for people finding and reviewing businesses that used to be in the same building as Sony.
Loved this. You're a great interviewer. Learned a lot. Thank you.
ОтветитьMy best mate collects comics! He’d love this place Seth!!
Ответитьyou can do this!? in my place i probably have to sign some documents about permission and stuff prior since it involves flashes (for whatever reason. it’s absurd, i know, and what’s more absurd is i can get into custody for this if i don’t comply with permissions and stuff)
ОтветитьThats for doing this video, I found it very hard to find videos on Cosplay Photography (event on-site). Great to see so many photogs talking about their process and gear.
ОтветитьRewatching this to get ideas for NYCC 2024 coming up. I'll be in the tunnel on Friday with a one light setup doing up close portraits of the Cosplayers. Thank you for the detailed coverage Seth!
ОтветитьI loved this so much. Thanks for this 👊
ОтветитьThis one is for us!! I know it’s long but there’s chapters to skip around and I think it’s worth it to get some of our own some shoutouts for all that hustle they put in to cover this massive event as well as fuel a symbiotic community. Thanks for checking it out
