Carlos thought why take only the fee for laundering money that belongs to a thief when he can take the money itself.

I think they probably railroaded these two men. The cousin probably said they did this because they threatened him. Both immigrants they sawly an easy guilty verdict. The cousin probably thought he wouldn't be arrested and then when he was, forced to sign for a 20 year sentence. This is alll speculation on my part but procecutors do this type of thing without punity a great deal of the time sadly. So much so I want to fight for the many innocent people whose lives were deemed unimportant or of no consequence . Prosecutors are after wins and do way too much to make those wins possible. It's wrong and we need some laws and real overbite of those procecutors who withhold discovery evidence or hold it until it 's too late to investigate it.

Off topic, but Erin Moriarty looks stunning in this episode! The MUA and the stylist on the show has done very well for this elegant lady.

Notice how all the women thought him innocent and the men guilty. Same thing happened when I was on a mock jury. Common sense isn't always common. Found out later the drug company they sided with dropped their case and paid their own bills against the company they were against. 🙄

Everybody's a con man We only hear about the ones that get caught But the things that go on In the government in politics Entrusted people that we entrust in our country Are the worst of all So when I hear about a guy who comes up with an idea to make some money Is he really evil no no he's not at all He just doesn't have the government behind him that's all

Personally, I think the prosecution gets tunnel vision when they like someone for a crime. They exaggerate the evidence they have and ignore the exculpatory evidence. To say whether or not this guy is guilty, the state seems to have been in too much of a hurry.

I usually like 48 hours episodes but this one is full of gaps. Two examples:
1. The motive is supposed to be money but how would they've gotten it - or what did they actually get? He would've went to jail in just a few days. They wouldn't have even enough time to extort him. And I bet FBI followed his financials very closely.
2. It's still unclear to me how the planning was a two-man job. Nothing was revealed that Carlos couldn't have done on his own. Why involve an estranged family member (rather than a close, trustworthy one)?

Throughout these 48hrs videos I am seeing a pattern. Once the police and prosecutors set their eyes on a suspect they stop doing thorough investigation to find possible other suspects instead manufacture their case to fit the suspect they already tatgeted

What a pair of brothers! So the servant is supposed to have hired his own family as a hitman, yet the cops can’t be bothered to consider someone else (wife or an enemy) could’ve easily done this with more money to spend on it. Hmm

The investigators they say it is a mystery yet they convicted two people
And the wife usually who wants him dead with all this money problem around
They do nothing for her or even ask . She might have hired the cousin
I think they are corrupt and possibly her family are well connected it is easier to go after the Colombian driver
So sad
