In Australia they are becoming more and more accessible and it will be law by 2025 for many sports centres, shopping centres and such to have them.
Places have plenty of time to comply with these new regulations.
Bit annoyed the presenter did NOT advise and make perfectly clear which country he was in when giving the emergency number to call as they should realise this will go all over the world.
In Australia phone "000" for emergency assistance.
What a fantastic idea, I just hope the idiots don't steal or vandalise them.

I've seen several instructions and manufacturer pages that insist an AED cannot restart a heart once it has stopped - that it only works on ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. The first line in this video is that it restarts the heart that has stopped in a cardiac arrest. If that statement is not true, it is a dangerous one to make. Chest compressions and not an AED would seem appropriate for a stopped heart, presuming the person isn't beyond saving. It's only when the heart is fluttering (fibrillation or tachycardia) that the AED will reset the inappropriate and uncoordinated existing rhythm. Either that, or some AED units do restart a stopped heart and others only reset the rhythm... in which case it seems critically important for everyone to know which is which and perhaps they should be color-coordinated, too?? FWIW, I'm not an authority by any stretch... just someone who's been trying to learn and has encountered an apparent difference in understanding what an AED is actually able to do.

Professor Pantridge from Co.Down, Northern Ireland, invented the mobile defibrillator and his invention has saved countless lives all over the world. His work continues to save lives to this day and yet he does not get the credit, appreciation and acknowledgement he deserves. He was a true hero. ❤

I am sorry to say, but I had to turn on the subtitles. Please the next time you get someone to do a video, make sure that they can speak English in a clear manner.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5)
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation of John 20:15)

Does anyone know if the 999 call is free, haven’t got any minutes left and unhappy about spending cash on a stranger who might die. Casualty is currently unresponsive and not breathing. Time 10.04 pm.

I know that sometimes when someone’s heart stops doctors or nurses give epinephrine (artificial adrenaline) and don’t shock the patient at all because it wouldn’t help. So what I want to know is, is it dangerous to shock someone who wouldn’t be treated like that in a hospital setting?

This is really useful because more people than ever are having heart attacks. The numbers have gone up a lot. Who knows what could be causing it??? Probably global warming. Or Putin.

As someone who had a cardiac arrest while driving right in front of an ambulance, everyone should be taught how to use these live saving devices. Equally important, these AED's should be widely available within larger shops, supermarkets etc. I was in a coma for 2.5 weeks and that was with the ambulance right in front of me when I died. These devices will save lives, we just need them readily available. Maybe a sign in the Windows of premises which have them etc would help save some lives. Speed is essential to both help save the live, and as important, minimise lack of oxygen to the brain so brain damage is minimal. You will have a degree of brain damage with a cardiac arrest, it's called cerebral hypoxia, impossible not to because the heart has stopped pumping blood and oxygen but fast CPR or AED use will minimise damage.

Also note there is a big difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest. A cardiac arrest is simple, your dead within seconds. A heart attack means your heart has a critical problem but is working in some form. Learning CPR and using AEDs should be mandatory in secondary education.
