This guide was SUPER helpful! For some reason, before I watched this, my brain just could not compute how much I was losing to clipping by weaving oGCDs just anywhere. When I applied what you showed here, weaving only after an Instant Cast or a fast casting Fire 3/Blizzard 3, my gameplay improved drastically!!

Can u tell me what mods you are using? Especially the pulltimer, mana tick tracker and cast bar with ping related movement windows? i will figure out my self how to install unless you have a source for this, too ❤

So at the end of the opener you still are in umbral ice and in the rotation you say <<assuming we start in astral fire>> does that mean you cast a fire 3 after the opener ?

I woiuld like an updated guide for this if possible. The baslance advanced page names the lines and I am not sure what line youre showing your pictures to compare to the N69 line for example. Also, balance doesnt give us potency /second like you but only if a 4% gain etc. Thanks

It honestly really helped me learn more about weaving windows, and your explanation about the advantages of the Fire 3 opener finally helped me understand the advantages of it over the Blizzard 3 opener I've been using. I'm about to hit level cap with Black Mage, and I'm definitely going to try and keep these lessons in mind!

Currently leveling blm (lvl 45) as a return player. Trying to gain as much knowledge as possible and apply it cause I don’t wanna suck 😂. Just gonna keep trying hopefully I’ll be good, since technically blm is the hardest job in the game.

Can I get some feeedback on this (I just started looking at openers recently)

So far I've been using manafont during laylines, cause it allows me to go FireIVx4 --> paradox -> manafont---> FireIVx4 --> despair.
IS this a terrible way to use it? Tbh i though since the recast timer for leylines and manafont is the same this was standard, but instead every opener/rotation ive looked at does the double despair bit.

Tried the opener and fire 4 gets shut off too fast.

Is there a rotation for Lv60 BLM?

I’m only Lv.50 atm But I’ve been alternating Ice 3, Fire 3, swiftcast, (when able) and flare. Lightning 3 as well before it ends makes my spells pop really fast one after another and melts enemies I’m sure there might be better ways and my rotation will change as more is made available but for now this is what I have fun with.

Quick question, what macro do you use for Aetherial Manipulation? Just one that auto targets a certain party member?

I know this video is old but I'm switching back to blm and wanted a refresher and I'm getting the feeling this time around that BLM is more like being a dungeon master there's a lot of rules that you need, but BLM works more in "guidlines" and you need to cater the job to your playstyle in various scenarios

What if you're not level 90 yet? What should your rotation be at let's say 85?

Bro, I've been a BLM since 1.0 and I'm no sweat with it but I'm confused as fuck lol. I didn't understand anything you just said in the whole video. Only thing I knew was the name of the abilities. But alot of those terms you used made my brain fry. Maybe cuz I'm not generally a raider. Like I have never ever been goods at setting up rotations in any MMO because it just seems too difficult to grasp what to use and why to use it at a particular time.
When you talk about pre using abilities, Idk what that means or how to even do it especially when you refer to specific time rames to use them.
Also it doesnt really help me understand how to setup my skill bars. So does this require me to just put my skills in specific spots or anywhere and just remember which ones to use and when?
When I play, I just go in and do what I can based on what I do know. But I spreadsheets and other timers and other tools make my brain hurt lol.
Makes me feel like shit cuz for having been a BLM for 10+ years and still feeling like a noob lol. I guess I just need a much more broken down and simplified way to understand it. Thats all. But good on you for making this.

This is an excellent guide that breaks down every aspect of BLM that someone could ever want to know in an easy to digest way. My brain is just too small and smooth to handle playing BLM well.

amazing video i love it but im a newb and my issue is im followin this opener but by the time i get to despair it disappears so im confused on what im doing wrong

Hey great guide! I am brand new to BLM (still leveling, around 50 atm) and I understand most of your opener here, but I was curious as to how you triplecast twice in the beginning of the fight? Doesn't triplecast have like a 60 second cooldown? Also, after you paradox at the end of the rotation I can see why u would thunder, but why do you use blizzard 4 there? Like I said I'm still early in the black mage experience I'm sure there is just some functionality I don't understand regarding the kit at that level, but I'd like to be ahead of learning curve as much as possible by the time i get there.

Great video. Being a BLM since ARR I knew all these tips and tricks and I am not even a hard core raider. I believe the transpose uptime is when the planets aligned and everything is going BLM. Otherwise I use it to save time or squeeze that F4 before boss jumps away.

The BLM AoE rotation is dog pop. By the time the rotation is done the other players have mowed down the adds and your contribution is so minimal that spending oGCDs is pointless. Flare cast time should be reduced to 3s or at least match F3 cast time.

Man. I really wish they would put those HP/Cast/Job/etc bar styles in the game. Those are soooooooo much better than the default. The one draw back of playing on PS5 😭
