ОтветитьThat's Cleopatra's Family
ОтветитьThis documentary is made all the better and is presented far more clearly by the gorgeous and handsome Dan Jones 😍😍😍
ОтветитьObjectively the British Empire has been worse, much worse. The numbers are enough. Between 1783 and 1997 it was estimated that the British Empire was responsible for the deaths of 150 million people. Why is the Third Reich considered more evil than the British Empire?
ОтветитьOne of my ancestors was briefly married to one of the girls. The name is there in the GENEOLOGY. On FamilySearch. Many ancient records have now been removed from the site bc the Gov. BS. Used to have the Roman Records on the site until a few years ago.
ОтветитьEdward and his " best friend gaviston

ОтветитьIt's comforting to know such decent people live here on Earth and have guided the mentality of the population .
ОтветитьHow accurate is this work .
ОтветитьI am descended from some pretty bad ass people, William the Conqueror, Plantagenets, Tudors, Stuart’s.
ОтветитьGreat video.
My recollection is that John's heart was buried at Fontrvraud.
Some of Henry's methods of interpersonal skills he learned from his Mother Mathilda. They were double edged swords.
I don’t like this speaker who claims to love violence. I will not watch such a spoilt person who lives free from it.
ОтветитьEvery US president has been related to this house
ОтветитьBuddy they are NOT English they are a French House in Anjou and Normandy doubt they even spoke English most likely French😂
ОтветитьFirst class Commentary as per usual, gripped by the reality as it echo's through history, loved it 👍
ОтветитьEdward II had to be gay, right?
ОтветитьThis channel is great. So many videos. They are great to watch or even just listen to as a podcast sometimes because everything is explained very well.
ОтветитьDan Jones tells The Complete History Of The Plantagenets to the excat history remarkable documentry thanks for this gem of historical events

ОтветитьDan Jones will forever continue to fuel my love for medieval history
ОтветитьSuch a good documentary... I highly recommend this for anyone that loves history. I couldn't stop watching, made me late for work.
ОтветитьOverly dramatic and incomplete...henry was excommunicated and did the pilgrimmage as penance. He was also a clever administrator and saw his son henry as inadequate to rule...over indulged and selfish. He brought in many great , fair laws.
ОтветитьI'm only halfway through this and it is fantastic
ОтветитьEleanor came with a lot of land, and she didnt take s*** from anybody.
Ответитьall religions ought to be erased. it is nothing but a cancer on the human race,
ОтветитьWho's the actress that portrays queen Isabella the she wolf.
ОтветитьNo mention of the pervert king married to a 12 year old child Dan Jones needs to tell the truth no make them look like Angel's thier all a bunch of pedophiles and perverts and not much has changed has it.
ОтветитьI love watching this over and over.
ОтветитьI never new England history was exciting. Now onto the war of the roses. Thank you!
ОтветитьI don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed watching a documentary more in my life .. absolutely perfectly executed 😍😍😍😍 can’t get enough
ОтветитьThe hoops this man jumps through to avoid the word gay omfg. Edward is willing to give up all of his kingly powers for the "best friend" the one he ignored his new wife for on their wedding day. Gay people exist Dan Jones, grow up.
ОтветитьExcellent documentary
ОтветитьStill don't understand why during the Richard II segment they say very little about his Uncle John of Gaunt and nothing about his other Uncle Edmund of Langley? John of Gaunt was Henry IV's father and was probably the most powerful lord while he was alive during Richard II's reign. Furthermore when Henry IV invaded and took the crown from Richard II while he was campaigning in Ireland, Richard II left his Uncle, Edmund of Langley, in charge of the country so I'm surprised that they said nothing about him?
Furthermore i really enjoyed this documentary but i have to disagree with Dan Jones saying that Henry IV usurping the crown from Richard II opened the door to the Plantagenet Dynasty destruction. Bc although it did lead to all that Henry IV was not the first Plantagenet family member to do it although he did it for good reason. Years before all this happened, John I had done it. John I was the youngest son of Henry II and one of his older brothers was Richard I who became the next King after their father died but there was another older brother who was younger than Richard I but older that John I and his name was Prince Geoffrey. Now Prince Geoffrey died before Richard I and John I but he did have a legitimate son name Prince Arthur. So when Richard I died without any legitimate children the crown should have went to his nephew Prince Arthur BUT John I didnt allow that to happen, immediately after his brother, Richard I died he went to the capital and had himself declared King, with Prince Arthur who had a better claim being cast aside. Then as an added measure King John I captured Prince Arthur and locked him in a cell and although it was never proven he most likely had him killed. So all im saying is King John I was the first member of Plantagenet Dynasty who usurped the crown from another family member, Not Henry IV, and i think it often gets overlooked bc unlike Richard II who was declared and crowned King and ruled as King in his time before his usurpation, Prince Arthur never got declared or crowned King or had the chance to rule bc his Uncle King John I prevented all it from happening.
Yeah I don't buy the excuse that Henry was just raging. He's the king. He understands his words have consequences. Sounds like the political consequences were greater than he expected and he tried to walk back his responsibility.
ОтветитьWonderful documentary.
ОтветитьMust of watched this at least ten times now.. Here’s to the next 10 times! 🤞 🤗 💙 🙏 💎
ОтветитьYour welcome 🙏
ОтветитьThe story telling style is amazing. Specailly how he makes pauses in between and reveals all the twists.. keeps the audience captivated:)
ОтветитьSkipped over Edward the Longshanks probably one of the greatest Plantagenets and focused on his son Edward II probably the worst King in the History of England. Are you kidding me? I'm unsubbing
ОтветитьMoral of history, dont try to be best friends with a king, it will end bad
ОтветитьThe real Game of Thrones!
ОтветитьA documentary with no loud music over the whole thing? HALLELUJAH
ОтветитьLove the history and the documentaries but it’s just old ones repackaged as something new.
ОтветитьDoes it bother any English that "the greatest British dynasty" was French?
ОтветитьI would love, for once, if someone would do an open minded report on John. He gets a terrible legacy attached to him, but Richard III left the nation bankrupt after he treated his fellow commanders in the Middle East so terribly that Leopold kidnapped him and ransomed him for four years' treasury. How could a king NOT raise taxes? John had nobles plotting against him with France (they had never been exactly loyal at any time prior in any event), and through it all, he kept the mainland together. He kept better records than any previous king aside from Alfred, and he was actually accused of not being Eleanor's son because he enjoyed spending time with workers - masons, ditch diggers, smiths, and farmers.
I think that it's likely that every king was not very kind, but it seems that those who peg John as some petty tyrant, ignoring the fact that the kingdom he inherited was absolutely broken. Was it John who actually raised taxes, or was it Richard who caused those taxes to be raised?
Would love to have a conversation about this, or hear a conversation on it. And Eleanor was way hotter than the woman in your video.
