I think manufacturing needs to be reworked. We shouldn't be doing the same manufacturing that China was doing. We should be working smarter not harder. Use automation and AI to do the tedious, repetitive shit. Unfortunately, MAGA wants the repetitive, tedious, monkey jobs back.

I lived in Denmark and have friends from Greenland. People may be surprised at the choices they make.

Its absolutely their right to decide for themselves who to align with. And they don't like China or Russia. You do the math.

Got my popcorn and out of my Legacy Media bubble after being jab injured. Haven't worked or even driven a car since that needle went in my arm.

Trump is doing this to redirect attention away from the fact that he is not going to lower grocery prices, gas prices and inflation. He won’t buy Greenland or the Panama Canal. Although his cult are eating it up.

So, you're seriously going to release this and not even mention how Elon was exposed for cheating in Path of Exiles 2 and being a fraud? That alone should raise massive red flags for you! You're being completely disingenuous and are clearly audience-captured, exactly like Destiny pointed out!

It's moral injury, Tom, not PTSD or depression. This is a traumatic stress injury we need to have a public conversation about, as there are a lot of occupational risk vectors outside the military as well as within it. Hit me up if you'd like to be pointed in the direction of some of the key literature on the topic.

there is already a special visa for foreign geniuses. it's called the O1B. so all of this talk about using H1B to recruit the best of the best foreigners who outperform all Americans is BS. it's simply an excuse to hire cheaper labor that execs can squeeze more work out of with no complaints.

A thoughtful neocon willing to roll up the sleeves of military and economic power and get dirty with threats around the world, while entertaining the WWE component of Trumpism as if it is akin to social media clickbait. I think you’re dishing out a very arrogance stance towards Greenland. The man is a liability to your country, America under Trump is heading towards complete isolationism I fear. You two are portraying the very attitudes that people globally see as negative about Americans. Arrogance and supremacy. I say this a Brit who was a US military spouse for 22 years of my life. Meanwhile, China is waiting in the wings to overtake the US on every conceivable front. You are no longer the great super power. Be nice to your allies.

Tom, it's funny you would say that at the international stage, there is only anarchy so America better dominate. Frankly, based on what we've seen in the past century, I'm not surprised that you or scholars like Prof Meisheimer would conclude that. I will go out on a limb and say though, with better global leadership - meaning not one that sets up a gangster style "rule based order" that benefits only a few - there will be a better chance for peace and cooperation. If you disagree, I would just sit back and watch how that's done in the subsequent next hundred years. It's starting to happen already

The H1B visa thing is a byproduct of a education system being a hedge fund or debt racket and using its clout and hubris they miss-allocation the students into getting a degree in anything as long as you take a loan and now we have debt riddled educated people with the wrong degree.

The "Acting tough" is all Trump ever does and he will be held to account. We arm Israel already and political cover. This BS about Trump being a strong guy because he has a huge pile of rhetoric. Tom is all about how to fight and be dominant. Tom forgot the fact that in any game, let's say any sports, nobody can always win. People not only need to learn how to fight, but it is more important how to deal with losing a fight. If China is going to be ahead of the US in some aspects, what should the US do? Break every rule that was created by the US? and after you break the rules you created, you are still behind, what are you going to do? Hate the other player? In this case China, would hating help you, injecting hate into Americans would make them smarter? Would hating others help Americans to become engineers?
You kept talking about the dominant, what if the US is not as strong as you believe? What if you can't dominate others? What are you going to do? Breaking every game rules? Crying and hating?

So the discussion in this episode brings to mind some thoughts and I'd like to know what everyone thinks.

These thoughts and questions are related to the urgency expressed on the importance and need to keep America at the top of the global economic and political food chain.

1. Thinking of Ray Dalio's other book: Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order. History has taught us, and Ray captures this well with his reasearch and life experience, any group that makes it to the top of the global order inevitably takes a fall.
The US is displaying trends, similar to those of past "top dog" societies and countries. Education, as mentioned in the discussion, attitudes of many towards work ethic or the lack thereof, younger generations of Americans' attitudes privilege or expectation of possession or inability to differentiate between needs and wants and demanding that wants are needs. The founding of so many Americans' socioeconomic situation being founded on credit scores and copious amounts of debt rather than actual assets with many people living their entire adult lives based on unsurmountable debts.

There are also trends in basic services that should be focused on supporting and benefiting citizens rather than benefitting shareholders. More often than not, many other countries have a much better handle on these than we do here in the US.

Or even the government's insistences that we deserve to be the global elite and yet maintain an extremely limited (even this tends to be incorrect) understanding of any other country, political systems or people outside of the US.

(Read the book, Ray Dalio does an excellent job of laying out and highlighting current trends that align with trends of past nations.)

Based on trends of past changes to the global world orders, perhaps it is time for the US to take a hit and help reset everyone's approach to surviving and thriving rather than expecting and any efforts now to maintain the top spot are just delaying the inevitable.

2. Issuance of H1B visas in order to attract top global talent to the US position seems to further ideas in point 1. If we need to attract foreign talent in order to have top talent on our side, is this not further evidence of declining?

Which leads me to this question:

Does the US still deserve to be in control, or is it time for a change in aspects of the global world order?

I'd like to hear others thoughts.
