I watched the history of autism and by the late 1950's it was 1 in million so what happened it is down to 1 in 50......? They said it wasn't called autism, but it was same effects....and.docrors would travel around the world to study it.....?
ОтветитьI can tick all those boxes except I think hate routine and hate rules lol
ОтветитьThat's just normal behavior.
Not everybody that can't develop a healthy relationship or asks "do i have to wear a tie" is autistic.
Is it a new thing to find a psychological diagnose to get a special treatment now that the LGBTqr+/flinta i f not that interesting any more?
Or are these videos promoted so that some "autism coaches" can sell their videos to every normal person?
Do not convince that someone is on a spectrum?? Yeah, by the criteria you go 100% of the people you know are on the spectrum
This is why you are a "relationship coach" and not a psychiatrist....
You fail to put clinical judgment in these criteria and just tick boxes
But at least the advertisement for your homepage makes the hoax obvious
Ill make this real simple its called childhood trauma
ОтветитьI literally just tried telling my sister that she’s most likely adhd and my boyfriend that he’s one or the other or both autistic and then laughed inappropriately at you saying not to tell people. So there’s that lol.
Ответитьwe can call eveyone autistic after relative death, with which had strong relationship
ОтветитьThanks Paul! I've been avoiding this video but I finally did.
ОтветитьCan an autistic person still understand the " social" game? Feeling the room. Signs etc
ОтветитьOngod whole time 😂 but how can i beat this or dis a gift or a curse
ОтветитьThe spectrum is so vast that nearly every human is on the it somewhere.
ОтветитьWell I’m autistic
ОтветитьVery interesting. Thank You Sir. 🙏
ОтветитьI tick quite a few boxes (with a big tick too) but am not convinced I'm on the spectrum, as my social awkwardness isn't on a dysfunctional level.
ОтветитьFrom my point of view...
Faces are too busy. And they lie sometimes.
I stick to routines because I tend to forget things. Routines keep me anchored so I don't forget stuff, like heading out the door without my phone, which is a needed accessory for my job.
Stop messing with new flavors on old things. There's nothing wrong with the old ones.
I was told, on the basis of a 20-minute interview, that I don't have Asperger's because I've never tried to harm myself. I don't recall that as showing up in the diagnostic list ever.
Very insightful!
ОтветитьBeen doing these things for years and it wasn't until I was 20, that I was officially diagnosed with autism. Also being introverted, I always just thought it was under all of that until I got diagnosed.
ОтветитьThe DSM-5 diagnosis is fucking astrology. Anyone with healthy concerns about their social skills may feel they fit the bill, which incidentally is how the internet chokes on completely normal people self diagnosing as 'on the spectrum'. Furthermore, a n y o n e who knows this diagnosis and is adamant they are "on the spectrum" will eventually find a professional who will parrot/reinforce their concern.
This comments field is hilarious.
Well, I have autism, but I also have schizophrenia and mood disorder and attention deficit disorder and some other unknown mental things. Sometimes, behavior is a matter of opinion. It's really hard to tell if the behavior is exact or vague or both. Psychology is often about irrational social behavior. For example, is "love" like the Mona Lisa? Or, is love like Cupid? Or, is love like Mother Nature? Or, is love like Ronald McDonald? Or, is love like New York? Or, is love like the Moon? It's very difficult to tell.
ОтветитьWe are all broken. All of us.
ОтветитьI can relate to most of these as an autistic female. I was diagnosed later in life. Since my diagnosis I keep having what I refer to as "autistic flashbacks", moments where a long forgotten past memory will pop into my conscious awareness. I will then recognise this distant memory as being related to autism. The penny drops. I'm sharing this as it may help others like me to understand their experience and to know that it's ok.
ОтветитьI know several people with those symptoms, including myself.
ОтветитьThe temperature of your video constantly changes and it's really undesirable.
ОтветитьThere were a lot of "Fuck yea's" in agreement to all of what you were describing. lol Very well done. I never crossed my mind that I was neurodivergent (much prefer that word), until my father jokingly said something about me being autistic when I was "air drumming" about a decade ago, then I started researching about it. It took me about half a decade, and a few tests to convince me I for sure am on the spectrum.
It's not something I share with people, except for when I feel I absolutely need to, like my manager at work, which has really helped her to better understand my behavior, as her brother is also autistic, but shows more outward signs of it than I. I have always done a fairly good job masking, but I've always been known as that "weirdo", in a good way, I hope. lol Thank you for taking the time to create this video for us.
I have many if not all of these symptoms. It’s been about six years since I’ve seen a psychiatrist. Definitely time to go back and ask about this directly.
ОтветитьAs a woman, I relate more to the autism signs in men. Is this normal?
ОтветитьNot the self diagnosed mfs trying to grasp to be relevant
ОтветитьSo ALL people are autistic
ОтветитьRecognizing this is a 3 year old vid. So much of this fits me. Two lines especially hit home for facets of me invisible to most people:
1) "There's often a big change in our behavior when we're tired and can't keep up the performance anymore."
2) "Periods of intense connection followed by sudden emotional withdrawal, which seems like it comes out of nowhere."
I tend to got talk to introvert people more, i think they are more genuine than extroverts who seems less interested in others ( they talk a lot but listen less). Also, i don't loose my energy with people i don't like ( fake, negative, haters, etc.) and i clearly can read a person the more i get older. I just don't have a big social '' circle'' but the persons that are in i just know they are worth it :). Being not social is ok. Respect yourself, know your limits and never forget that life is not a performance: it is better to be hated for who you are than loved for what you are not. I know i am a bit off topic but i just wanted to share a bit of my thoughts today.
ОтветитьNO!!!! xD
ОтветитьIve always had trouble with speaking, engaging conversation, sometimes I can’t say anything at all
ОтветитьDo you get the same sort of feeling about stores that sell clothes as you do with perfumes? Personally I've always felt they have a bad, chemical smell and they are hard to breathe in.
ОтветитьWhat a load of bullshit
ОтветитьThey should be comic con not public joke? Nope don't be autism it's getting weird.
ОтветитьWelp im autistic
ОтветитьI don't bother learning emotional intellegence that sounds like a THEM problem. its exhuasting fake and disgusting feeling.
I will not apologize for my weird spinning humming and silly actions because that would be like denying who I am.
my friends and ppl I talk to understand my oddities anyone who doesn't screw them and i have no problem if ppl call me out on saying something off topic. I go I'm autistic wtf do you want from me.
I'm just learning. I got a real slap in the face when my son was diagnosed. It was no bother he has it, that was no concern, I'll easily deal with that, it makes no difference to me. The slap in the face was the realisation that his behaviour was all the things I used to do, more and more I realised that yeah I'm sure, and my family are sure that I'm autistic, it's like a revelation.. And I'm actually glad, I finally have found the puzzle I fit, everything makes much more sense now. I'm waiting for my assessment, and I think it's a test I'll pass with a high score unlike other tests.
Weird to feel so happy inside about it all but everything finally makes sense, all my struggles, all the cringe, regrets, relationships etc.
Thanks for your video, It is very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for this
ОтветитьYou could read these behaviors into about anybody. Why are we so eager to label people so it can be held against them at some point? Maybe certain agencies and educational institutions get more money the more "disabled" people they can manufacture.
ОтветитьWhat do you think about the phenomenon of the Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron? There are so many similarites
ОтветитьVery good. I’m trying to improve my understanding of others and this is very good
ОтветитьWith all the diagnoses available, who is normal?
ОтветитьI find myself in 6 of 7 of those things. Just in the last one I don't find myself in at all.
ОтветитьThis video is the reason why Tik Tok exploded.
ОтветитьThis does tick a few boxes for me. One thing that surprised me was the eating the same thing everyday criteria. That just seems to be common sense; why waste time deciding what to eat everyday?
ОтветитьWatched this video, I chuckled to my wife, "You know, joking aside, I think there's a small chance I am on the spectrum!" This caused her to laugh and reply, "I wasn't joking!"
🥲 (That relationship one hit hard, and I don't even know how I feel about it. I "have friends" but I'm terrible at keeping up my side of the relationship, to the extent of just preferring to be left alone. Yes, I will likely die alone, maybe even homeless, but that's a small price to pay for my own mental sanity today!)
I remember making a deal with an ex that if we were shopping and I was particularly "drifting off" into my absent realm, that she'd direct us passed a perfume counter. Worked like a soft-ish version of smelling salts and would bring me back for a while. Turning around 180 degrees, leaving the store we just entered or leaving the queue where we were waiting to order food - it'd still only be once we got to the "girl at Debenhams/John Lewis", that I'd be brought back out of Narnia.. Bless her.
ОтветитьThank you so much, Paul. At the age of 35, I can now understand much better so many events, behaviors and experiences I lived in my past, especially during my childhood and adolescence, and I can find a better way to live every day in according to who and how I am. Discovering your channel has been an immense source of awareness and relief. Nico from Italy.
