What is your favorite IDE or text Editor??!!!!

do your suggestions still hold true in '23/'24? or do you have new recommendations

I have been using VS Code, and I like it, but I do have some problems from time to time. Specifically (and this could be user error) sometimes things just seem to appear out of nowhere - almost like I have done a large-scale find and replace), and this totally messes up my code. So, I will be looking into replacement editors.

Pycharm is so stupid

I read the description before watching, I thought vim was the top editor.. hooray!
Then I watched the episode and realized it was the #5 choice.. lol
I've used Pycharm a little it's nice. I just feel better in vim.

I started my python journey with pycharm, and im not happy with that. Its heavy, sluggish and wayy to complex for my lil brain. I care for performance, simplicity but still some features like auto complete brackets n stuff. Which ide would you recommend for me?

I like spyder4 because it runs the script in ipython instead of the normal python shell

I used PyCharm religiously until I realized how seamless VSCode's integration with WSL2 is. It makes sense Microsoft would optimize their flagship text editor for arguably the best development environment thus far.

I agree with you 100% primarily because I don't know any better.
I'm almost 63 and I just started learning python a couple days ago. I am already disatisfied with python IDLE and was looking for a more intuitive and helpful editor until I get some time under my belt, I think I'm going to start with ATOM or Kite for atleast for the next few months. I like when you hover and get all sytax help saves alot of time.

Bro I just saw the thumbnail, and if your still writing in python, then your definitely not smart enough to be using vim.

PyCharm should not be allowed to call itself "open source." They've tacked on a lot of language post Apache 2.0 licensing about collecting and using your PID for basically w/e the hell they want.

RIP Atom. I found this video hilarious in retrospect. He said Atom is "hackable" and can be customizable. And THE SPONSER IS Kite! lawl 😂🤣😂🤣

For Fuck sake i installed Atom, and Bruh, even after installing Terminal package it won't show the output!!! And have problems to find my laptop drivers😭

Sublime Text doesn't accept input . I don't recommend it .

In 2022 I'm disagree with the statement that PyCharm is number one. It doesn't have synrax highlight for CSS files, when I used PyCharm, I had to make highlighting profiles for CSS and Javascript, to make the code highlighted. That was the reason why I switched to VS code.
