Someone said it’s a x100vi on steroids 😂
ОтветитьI'm in the Fujifilm system. When I heard about a new compact Lumix full frame I got a bit excited. The excitement vanished quickly with the lack of mechanical shutter and a slow readout sensor. If it had a mechanical shutter, I could maybe overlook the lack of evf. I didn't even stop to consider the size of useful lenses. This camera isn't for me.
ОтветитьPanasonic decided not to market the device and let the hyper guys influence the market by given out lots of freebies. This is a test balloon. The mark II or III may become a compelling something. However it will never be a Fujifilm killer. Fujifilm created a loyal following and the tech advancements are good enough from my perspective. Cheers
ОтветитьDefinitely not a Fujifilm killer. That LUT feature if they bring it across their Full Frame and Micro 4:3 lineup might eat into some of Fuji's sales especially with the M4:3 Leica lenses being cheaper, but if they keep it only on the S line up you're talking a small percentage of pros and enthusiasts that wanted to switch to full frame already and most of them are/were probably going to switch to.... Sony.
ОтветитьThis is like a sales prototype for the next step.
ОтветитьDefinitely buying one. Great backup body to my S5ii.
ОтветитьThey took the street photography motto of "F8 and be there" TOO literal & said "yeah, just make this prime lens have a permanent fstop of f/8" 😂
ОтветитьLet him COOK!
ОтветитьBro u reveal the reality 😂😂😂 to much hyped about s9. Fujifilm is best
ОтветитьI think less in the case of LUTS/film sims is more. Sure I'd like to be able to store some more in camera, few more. But 39 is just ridiculous.
Also fuji has spent time and its expertise creating the film sims, whereas Panasonic has just said, "here you go noobs, have at it, you figure it out".
However, I've been wishing for so long that we could create and store film recipes in the xapp and then transfer individual ones in and out of the camera. We can now transfer RAWs, so why not. So thanks to Panasonic for hopefully pushing Fuji in this direction.
And I do mean film sim recipes, not custom settings, as I when creating a new look, I don't usually change all settings like the self timer lamp etc! But even that could be customised by rhe user greying out what they dont want to change - like how the lock screen customisation works.
I am aware of fuji x-raw studio that already does this. But its desktop only, looks like windows 3.1 and the speed of 1990s dial up.
You didnt do your homework properly. The L-Mount has also the sigma i series primes! They are small fast quality lenses!
ОтветитьI'm looking for something with rolling shutter, no flash, no EVF with good banding at speeds above 1/200th. Would this be a good choice? Replacing my x100vi.
Ответить100% agree with your points. S9 is too crippled for a $1500 price point. The LUT feature is cool I’d like to see that roll out in more cameras.
ОтветитьI mean ok it has 1 feature that makes it interesting but if you can only record 10 mins how long before you're annoyed by constantly having to hit record ?
Lut is a rip off of film simulations I don't care what they say . Fuji x weekly does the same thing as their app. They may say it's a photo camera , then why no EVF?
They say it's good for video ... then why doesn't it have a longer recording time ? If it's because of overheating being that bad , then why not work on that ? People bashed the X-H2s for needing the fan to run long. Why is this camera getting a pass? It's crazy how much crap crop sensor cameras get and full frame cameras get a pass only because they are full frame . Cut the crap. People with APSC and Micro 4/3 make money off of their work. Super 35 is a thing and has been used professionally for a while . Full frame cameras don't get a pass. This camera is trash. Buy a used S5 ii , canon R6 mark 2 , or Sony A7 IV . Save up your money and get a better camera in my opinion.
It’s good point about the lack of nice compact lenses, Panasonic is more on the bulky side. but to be fair the 35mm f1.8 is more like an f1.2 Lens on the Fuji system, so it’s like putting the 56 f1.2 or the 33 f1.4 on the x100.
ОтветитьNo Shutter, No Hot Shoe, No Viewfinder...It's a joke of a camera. I was hoping it had all of the above. I would have considered buying it. Too much money for missing all those features.
ОтветитьSince they introduced these on this s series they should call the presets sluts
ОтветитьThere was a time when cameras were bought on account of their functionality. That means what was the planned use for the camera. Nikon was bought for photo & news reporters, especially on war zones. Canon & Pentax for studio, weddings and landscapes, calendar images, etc. Leica, Fuji & Olympus were NEVER bought for the above mentioned tasks. They were dedicated for the artisan, the photo creator and some experimental photography. Same as cars, photographers stick to a camera name. No influences were needed, not even those photographers who used them, since the manufacturers, same as some independent book & "how to" photo magazines, published books to help their customers to get acquainted with the new model. No camera manufacturer wined and dined anybody to praise their products.
Remember this: the photographer was smart and intelligent. The camera was his TOOL. The roles have reversed nowadays. Technology is a great helper, but a miserable, cruel master.
In present day, cameras are not to get or to create great images. They are luxury artifacts to be seen with. Same as cars. Nobody cares anymore about the machine and quality of materials used by the manufacturer. They want an entertainment mobile station equipped with the latest choice of fun & games on the road. How good is to have a car that speeds up to 250milles/hr, when the speed limit is at most 90milles/hour? The roads are not built for speeds higher that 150milles/hour. The same applies to cameras: there's too much technology inside that the user won't even use or master it in his life time, since the images are no longer natural, but rather overcooked essays.
Professional vs amateur? Well, here's a parting thought: Remember that amateurs built the Ark, Professionals built the Titanic.
Have a great day!
It’s been interesting seeing Gerald Undone rip them and then act like he wasn’t talking about that creator….
ОтветитьIt's always funny to see creators using a camera for a few hours and have definitive opinions about it.
Or they come to Japan for 1-2 weeks and release guides on the best spots in Japan... I always find that very interesting...
But yeah the S9 sounds like Lumix is trying to catch a bit of the hype of the X100V/X100VI but not a huge fan of the overall philosophy behind it. They don't have the overall system for it, no viewfinder, the build quality does not cut it...
Fujifilm doesn’t make cameras they just ship out test units to reviewers to show everyone what’s never going to be available. If the S9 is available I will buy one. So that’s how they will kill the x100vi by simply making cameras. I think it’s genius marketing you know show a product and then sell them who would have thought.
ОтветитьIf it was 900-1000$ the story would be different. but at 1.5 they enter the camera prices who have all the missing stuff. And I think fullframe is overrated.
ОтветитьI was an iPhone user a year ago and couldn't find a 'social media camera' so ended up with a Fujifilm X-E4 which I love. I can see where Panasonic thinks they are heading BUT why a full frame sensor when a) most social media content gets down scaled when posted anyway and b) most social content is quickly forgotten, it's not printed and framed. Then who actually posts content immediately, don't most do post edit as well as colour grading? Finally, L mount lenses are very bulky and expensive influencers won't want to spent that big on lenses.
ОтветитьI’ve unsubscribed from many of these frauds. Anyone suitable of being invited to Japan should have immediately known it was overpriced. It’s got a D750 sensor without a shutter ffs. “It’s not weathersealed to keep the price down.” The price isn’t down it’s exactly the same price as a Sony A7Cii
ОтветитьIs it tough being an influencer? Every year there is more competition for the same pool of marketing/ad dollars. It just doesn't seem sustainable.
ОтветитьMaybe if it had a shutter, an evf, and a proper autofocus pancake lens with an aperture of 2.8 or brighter, I would consider it a fujifilm contender. But there’s to much against. Maybe the s9ii. 😅
ОтветитьThe Lumix S9 is a joke...I would never buy this thing.......Cheers
ОтветитьDirect to the point!
ОтветитьI just ordered the S9 but I also have the Fuji XS20 but I need a good lense for the S9
ОтветитьThere just a bunch of parrots saying the same thing. It’s hard to get a honest review at this point until a regular non sponsored channels start to review it
ОтветитьI’m glad you’re not a shill head ! 👍😂
ОтветитьAlso, where is this LUMIX Lab app? In unreleased beta I assume? It would be bonkers if it doesn’t support the S5II and G9 also
ОтветитьWould not say I am a huge Fujifilm guy, I shoot mostly Canon. But I do own the X-S10 for a EDC camera. But you’re right about the size of the lenses Canon has the same problem with the APS-C line. That probably why they opened the RF APS-C mount to Sigma.
ОтветитьFuji autofocus and ibis wobble is the Fuji killer.
ОтветитьI am convinced Leica purchased Panasonic due to its financial collapse. ;0
ОтветитьNot impressed with this camera. Manufacturers are getting stupidly desperate now. Even Leica is offering Q3 in different colours. Poor move.
ОтветитьI really like how the their LUT and app. seems to work. I just hope that Fuji will add the Tone curves and more options in the next cameras. After seeing this LUT thing, I feel that waiting months for an single new film simulation is kind of...meh. But anyway this S9 is not a camera for me, I keep my Fuji's :)
ОтветитьManual focusing lenses with the camera that has no viewfinder this is a joke mate! And no hotshoe and no mecanical shutter lol
I mean Panasonic has got their S5II which is full frame fully packed camera that costs some 300 extra bucks and those luts can be used with that as well so if I would think about it I would surely go for S5II instead S9
The S9 is a Panasonic killer.
ОтветитьA few things on here are seeming like a bit of a stretch and a few things here brought up some good points about sharing these different looks.
At the same time, I think you missed the mark on a few things. The colors won’t be good on this camera because a bunch of beginners are just gonna share bad with each other I’m pretty sure you can see the profile of whoever is sharing the look with you and if they’re smart, they’ll be some kind of rating system and also people have eyes. If it looks bad don’t use it.
I also think you’re just a little bit under informed about the Elm because there is a couple fully manual lenses, and vintage lenses that would have a pretty small form factor as well as some of those sigma lenses. The 45 mm F2 .8 mm 3.5. These aren’t Panasonic lenses, but they are still first party lenses on this system are relatively small and fit aesthetic with their aperture rings.
Without question the LUT features will blow away the x100vi and better AF. Just overpriced.
ОтветитьThis is a cellphone camera on steroids, I don't consider the S9 a real camera because like a cellphone camera it lacks everything that makes a camera a camera.
ОтветитьThat red indian apache threw some arrows at Fuji but he missed !! All those stupid shill heads got flown over to talk shit
ОтветитьFuji needs to improve the app. It would be cool if we could store and send recipes from the app to the camera. Also it would be cool if it had a section to browse other people's recipes, rate and import to your camera. As it is now the app barley works to transfer photos. It was only a few weeks ago when you could not even transfer raw images.
ОтветитьI don't think it is a Fuji killer or even in the same market as the X100VI or even X-T50 or X-S20
No flash support, make it of zero use to me.
But to compare a stripped down full frame body to a full featured fixed lens camera is crazy
Leaf shutter, Flash sync 1/2000, Fuji Film Simulations, F/2 lens, Hybrid viewfinder, fun to use.
compared to No flash support, 15min video, no viewfinder, and it aint even that cheap...
Having sharable saveable LUT is a nice idea... but if I'm going to use LUTs or film simulations... I'd rather go with 90 years of colour science and film making that fuji has, rather than what bob made.
Iamtongue you should react to the 10 year old technology Leica D-Lux 8 (well D-Lux 7 in a Leica Q wrapper) they couldn't even redesign the lens to cover the full M43 sensor, so it still has only 17MP and a 2.2 crop factor (compared to 2x on M43)... that is a company that is trying to sell cameras based on its name and hoping to get some of the tiktok guys that want a fashion item
The s9 should’ve had a non interchangeable lens. Q3 style, with digital zoom.
ОтветитьFujifilm doesn't have enough resources to manufacture enough units to ship worldwide. So their X100VI is basically a phantom internet only camera. Fujifilm literally only manufacturered a mere handfull of units, most likely short of parts ie LCDs and drivers.
ОтветитьJust get a Fujifilm X100VI? Yeah right, in May of 2025 it possibly will arrive.
Ответить
