Magnificent self-biographical film. Been a fan of him since i saw "El Topo" eons ago. As well learned about his work on Dune.
I think many of men can identify with growing with fathers of this era. I was born late to parents who were in their 40's that came from a totally different era than i was born in. An only child. And it created social complications. I saw the world i was born and grew up in as it was and became, they saw it as the generation they were in and had a really hard time accepting the new ways.
My father tried as well to push me down and belittle me out of his own insecurities to make me "do what he wanted and saw right".. But you can't stop change.
If you are into watching a very dramatic and thoughtful film about "Daddy issues" it is this one. Not "Ad Astra".

Is this a fart smelling fest? I don’t mind deep movies at ALL. I LOVE a slow burn. I’m an idiot and don’t understand alotta shit, but I try nonetheless, more than a lot of people when it comes to watching a deep movie that is hard for my peabrain to grasp, regardless, I try. BUT… IS THIS A SMELL THE DIRECTORS FART FILM? Cuz if it is, please warn me before I try!

The first half of the movie was kinda boring, I loved some dialogues but most was boring. Didn't watch second half. The mother just sings and sings, I didn't understand what was going on.
Can anyone tell me if I missed something on this movie, should I watch the full movie again?

it's the best movie I've ever seen, along side with "endless poetry" the second part of jodorowsky's autobiography, it's a masterpiece but also really hard to swallow at some moments. highly recommend you to watch it, jodorowsky is a genius

This is probably one of the most bizzare movies I have ever seen, not much of it made any sense to me. Some scenes are unforgettable however, and the cinematography is beautiful and vivid.

Wonderful Film

A beautiful and dream-like film. I encourage everyone to watch it. When you melt down all the different religious, political, and philosophical ideologies they all form to the same metallic compound. Consciousness is what unites us all. Bravo, Mr. Jodorowksy.

Every week I watch this trailer. It is like an inspiration waiting in a box. It is a shame that this will never be in cinemas in South Africa. I am definitively going to buy the DVD.
