From a live performance of the 14th annual community Michael O'Neal Summer Singers ensemble, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3 p.m., at Roswell United Methodist Church
Dan Forrest is one of the most performed American choral composers of the twenty-first century. He has been described by the NY Concert Review as having "an undoubted gift for writing beautiful music that is truly magical." As opposed to a traditional Requiem Mass, "Requiem for the Living" is as much a narrative for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow, as for the dead. Containing some of Dan Forrest's most moving music, "Requiem for the Living" has quickly become a choral/orchestral standard since its first performance five years ago.
This concert also includes Forrest's "Good Night, Dear Heart"; "Long, Long Ago"; and "You Are The Music."
